Hello beauties! I hope you all had a great start to the year!
After a long hiatus, I’m back with the year’s first post and as the title suggests, I have some blushing favorites to share with you…
Favorite Blushes
Although I’ve been active on my social media, I know I’ve been quiet on my site for a while now.
Truth is, I haven’t been the most inspired when it comes to makeup, especially with some of the new releases lately. Some launches felt very same-same, others fell short of what I would consider worthy of a mention.
Along with stripping back on using makeup products due to worldwide circumstances, I shifted my focus more on keeping my skin in good condition and veering towards practical, effective makeup products that further enhance the skin.
All that said, however, one makeup product I reached for (and purchased most) over the last 12 months has been blush. Cream, liquid, powder…no matter the texture or finish, I just can’t get enough of blush lately.
So, in honor of what’s been adding a pop of color to my face, and hence my mood too, I decided to dedicate this year’s first post to my favorite blush products….
MOIRA SIGNATURE OMBRE BLUSH
Lets start with my most loved purchase: Moira Signature Ombre Blush. I did a dedicated post of the initial two colors I purchased which you can check out HERE
You may have seen these insanely gorgeous, embossed with a “tropical forest from the heavens” pattern blush compacts all over social media.
I discovered them around the same time Pat McGrath released her powder blush line, which interestingly has a similar floral embossed pattern. As I was contemplating purchasing the Pat McGrath blushes at $38 a pop, you can imagine why I veered towards the $9.50 Moira compacts as a trial.
And wow! I was pleasantly surprised! The gradient of these blushes already offer 3 shades in one compact. The light, dark and a blend of both. Some shades have contrasting colors too so that further expands the color range you can customize.
These blushes are so insanely pigmented, they blend seamlessly and the staying power is definitely better than some higher end blushes I’ve tried. I was so impressed with the first two I purchased, that I went back for another 2…now eyeing another few. Definite must have!

THE MINI BLUSHES
Continuing on with powder blushes, the Natasha Denona Mini Bloom will probably go on record as my all time favorite do-it-all blush.
The punch of coral shade with illuminating shimmers instantly adds color and highlight, so it’s the only cheek product needed to achieve a complete look.
This is one of those products I want to have 10 back ups of…in case they discontinue – which even the thought puts me in a panicked state.
Another mini blush I really enjoy is Dior Backstage in Coral.
It’s quite sheer and I have to layer quite a bit of product to achieve the right amount of opacity but it’s a great blush once I get to that shade. The finish is satin, so on days I prefer a more matte look, I switch out my Natasha Denona Bloom with this Dior Coral one.

LIQUID BLUSHES
I love all different textures of blush but liquid blush always has a special place for me.
Especially on days when I want a hint of color on top of my fresh skincare (and concealer only where needed), a liquid blush always comes through with that soft, subtle yet natural look.
I will still stand by Glossier Cloud Paint being my all time favorite liquid blush formula, however I discovered a new, drugstore favorite by Milani which I’ve been enjoying just as much.
It’s slightly more sheer than Cloud Paint however applies and wears pretty much the same. At half the price of Cloud Paint, I would definitely go back to purchase more colors.

CREAM STICK BLUSHES
Last but not least in the blush formulas is the practical cream sticks. I don’t know how many times the Nudestix multi-use sticks made it into my favorite posts, but I’m yet to find another cream stick formula that comes close.
Although I have a few shades in this range, the color Sunkissed with its warm terracotta undertone which I double up as both contour and blush is what I reach for the most. Nudestix cream sticks blend like airbrush finish without moving the foundation, concealer under it. It wears really well also.
A close second to the Nudestix cream sticks at a fraction of the cost is Colourpop’s Blush Stix line. I picked up 4 different sets of these which featured 3 blush/contour/highlight combos in each pack, so I have quite a lot of different colors.
The formula is great! It applies seamlessly and so practical to have on hand even for use on the eyes and lips. Big thumbs up!

SPECIAL MENTIONS
Talk about Colourpop, their OG SuperShock blush range which is a mousse-gel-cream hybrid are also incredible! If you decide to grab the Stix, make sure to add a few of their SuperShock blushes in your cart too.
Another more balmy/sheer cream blush you could consider is Fenty cream blushes. There’s a wide variety of colors and the finish is an in-between of liquid and cream blush textures. My favorites are Rose which is a warm rose brown and Fuego which is a vibrant mango with a hint of shimmer; $22 – Shop HERE
And here we are! Although I also have some blush palettes and other single blush compacts I alternate with, the above products have been my “creme de la creme” of blush favorites lately.
Stay tuned for my review of a popular cream/powder blush palette in my next post!
