Continuing on with the new product releases of 2014, Urban Decay added more products to their ever so successful Naked range. Having released the Naked 3 eyeshadow palette at the end of last year, Urban Decay has now given us gorgeous lip glosses, BB creams and loose finishing face powders from this line.
Along with the great quality of their products, I think Urban Decay hit the nail on the head with their marketing and packaging tactics. No matter how much we all enjoy bright, vibrant colors, shimmers and sparkles, I think it’s fair to say we all have a soft (and safe) spot for natural/nude and as Urban Decay calls it ‘naked’ products. Riding on this concept of versatile and universal shades, it’s no wonder the Naked range is selling like crazy. Here are the new release products for Spring 2014:
A nourishing balm and high-shine gloss in the one tube, containing vitamins and shea butter, the Naked glosses provide a subtle color whilst complementing many looks from the natural everyday glow to a killer smokey eye. The packaging is simply stunning with the base of the tube displaying the color of the gloss so it’s easy to pick out, especially if you collect them all ;) [$20.00]

Naked Skin Beauty Balm: Providing a demi-matte finish, this oil free Beauty Balm claims it minimises pores, wrinkles, redness as well as hydrating and nourishing the skin. Beauty balms contain skincare benefits so being a new product, I can’t yet report on the long term skincare benefits it claims to have. The balm comes in 3 shades: light, medium and dark. [$34.00]

Naked Skin Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder: Finely milled, this lightweight loose powder is designed to blur away imperfections, setting the foundation and concealer without creasing. As with the beauty balm, it also provides a demi-matte finish so it doesn’t look heavy or cakey. [$34.00]

In summary, from my perspective, out of this latest launch of products, I’m interested in the lip glosses. The color range is really beautiful and texture of Urban Decay glosses never dissappoint.
I just couldn’t get into the whole BB cream craze, I just think too many brands (drugstore and high end) took the concept of tinted moisturisers and stamped BB cream on the packaging. I’m not saying they don’t work, I personally prefer to stick to a good base primer and my favourite foundation combo.
It’s the same with the powders too. There are so many amazing translucent powders and setting sprays out there…at least I’m thinking a setting powder isn’t as highly sought after as a new line of foundation – per se. If you’re a big Urban Decay fan, or you were thinking of switching up your products and trying something new, then this powder might be a good option to try ;)
