Sigma Dimensional Brushes Vol.1

by Sarah

I think it’s safe to say, most makeup lovers have at least one Sigma Beauty brush in their collection. Being the leading brand of makeup brushes, what sets Sigma Beauty apart from the rest is their dedication to variety and innovation.

On the heels of their best selling, award winning F80 Flat Top KabukiΒ brush, Sigma Beauty has pushed the boundaries even further to bring us more advanced versions: The 3DHD Max Kabuki and F83 Curved Kabuki brushes!

And I’m excited for a very good reason…

Sigma Beauty 3DHD Max & F83 Curved Kabuki Brushes

The cult-favorite F80 Flat Top Kabuki is possibly the most used and hyped about foundation brush in the market. From the perfectly packed bristles to how seamlessly it blends cream and liquid products, the F80 foundation brush has also been my personal go-to for years.

The new 3DHD Max and F83 Curved Kabukis are made from the same type of synthetic bristles. They’re designed to provide even more precise application of liquid/cream products. The innovative and patented designs ensure products are applied to every little corner/area of the face with ease.

The 3DHD Max has sharp angles, whereas the F83 Curved Kabuki – as the name suggests, has softer lines. Lets take a closer look at both…

3DHD MAX KABUKI BRUSH – $27

I’ve had the mini version of this brush, the 3DHD Precision for some time and it’s my favorite brush to apply concealer under the eyes, into the inner corners of the eyes, around the nose area and even clean up around the brows and lips.

I’m so happy that we now have the larger size option cos I can get my base application done with this brush, without having to reach for smaller versions.

The carefully cut angles of this brush offer pointy ends to get right into the inner corners of the eyes whilst the flat sides buff in foundation and concealer seamlessly. Another great feature of having such sharp angles is that you can apply contour products along the cheekbones and the sides of the nose in one quick and ‘perfectly straight’ sweep.

If you enjoy the original F80 Flat Top Kabuki but need a brush which can get into all areas of the face and contour too, the new 3DHD Max Kabuki is an absolute must!

F83 CURVED KABUKI BRUSH – $25

The F83 Curved Kabuki is a brand new design altogether. The bristles sit at a declining angle with a slight dip in the center.

This brush is designed to hug the curves of the face. It fits perfectly along the jawline, into the hollows of the cheekbones and the sides of the nose.

Along with buffing in foundation in curved areas of the face, I would recommend this brush particularly for contouring and highlighting.

You can even apply your contouring product on the lower end of the bristles and your highlighter on the higher end, and with one simple sweep, you can place your cheek contour/highlight without any guesswork. All there is to do after that is to blend blend blend and you’re done!

Sigma Beauty is still the first brand I resort to any time I need specific brushes, as well as traditional essentials. These new additions are a great testament to Sigma’s dedication to innovation and I’m so happy to add them to my kit.

I have so many brushes from Sigma and I love them all. I’m not too sure about the curved brush but the 3D one is calling my name.

I agree Carolina, along with the beauty blender, the F80 has always been a staple for me too. Let me know what you think of these ones if you try them :)

I like the look of 3dhd. I don’t always wear concealer and I can never get into my tear duct area with my F80. Thank you for another great post :)

Hi Sarah I bought all the brushes you listed on your sigma essentials post and I love every single brush! If you had to choose one of these brushes which one would you recommend?

Thanks Tania, I love hearing about your experiences with the products I post about :) I personally prefer the 3DHD Max, only because I tend to do sculpting/contouring and appreciate the sharp lines of this brush. Hope that helps :)

Ooooh! These look interesting. I use the flat top kabuki also. I can see how the 3D one would get into all the nooks. Nice!
