Rimmel Magnifeyes Eyeshadow / Kohl Kajal Duo

March 11, 2016

Let me start by saying, if you see the product I’m about to introduce anywhere…just buy it. Now that I impatiently gave away the tone of this post, we better get to the details :)

I just got my hands on Rimmel’s Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow/Kohl Kajal pencils and I’m so impressed with everything about them, I just had to share with you beauties…

I’m a big fan of Rimmel lip and eye products, especially their long wear formulas, so I was quite excited to try these Magnif’eyes Duo pencils. They’re a perfect team of cream eyeshadow on one end and a kohl kajal liner on the other. Both sides twist up revealing 0.0025oz/0.7g of product on the eyeshadow end and 0.0033oz/0.9g on the kajal end.

There are 5 color duos in this range (I included a color guide at the end of the post) but I picked up two as a starting point. I say ‘starting point’ cos I’m definitely going back for more. With intense pigmentation and color payoff, these babies are waterproof to the point that soap and water does not even budge them once they set. You definitely need a good makeup remover.

KISSED BY A ROSE GOLD

The eyeshadow is a stunning copper penny with rose gold undertones. It’s smooth and packs on insane amount of color at pretty much the first swipe. The kohl kajal formula is just as soft and creamy. It’s a deep chocolate brown and although not so visible in the picture, there’s a subtle hint of shimmer through it. It also holds up great in the waterline, no smudging or fading. I adore this pencil!

QUEENS OF THE BRONZED AGE

The eyeshadow is a warm brown with copper/bronze undertones. Again, applies incredibly smooth and one swipe is enough to get full opacity. The kajal side of this one is a gorgeous champagne shimmer. It reminds me of a slightly warmer version of Becca’s Opal highlighter. Kajal pencils are typically matte and dark colors so I was a bit surprised to see such a soft shimmery shade on this end. Nevertheless, I’ve already used it to highlight the inner corners of my eyes, the brow bone and to add a hint of sparkle to the center of my eyelids so it’s a very versatile color.

As I mentioned earlier, these pencils (both ends) are completely waterproof. If you’re already planning your summer beauty products or a vacation, these are an absolute must in your kit. Considering they practically take care of eyeshadow and eyeliner all in the one convenient pencil, having a few of your favorite shades to mix and match would probably set you up for all your daytime and evening looks.

Here are the remaining color combos from this range. I’m hoping I can at least find the black/gunmetal sparkle duo as an essential, but that intense blue kajal paired up with the shimmery khaki green is definitely calling my name…I can hear it…like I hear all makeup products :)
