Olivia Palermo x Ciate London Makeup Collection

by Sarah

Couple of months ago, I wrote about Olivia Palermo’s first 3-color nail polish line with Ciate London here and mentioned there would be a capsule makeup collection to follow.

Well, it’s finally here and just browsing through the product range and packaging, it’s definitely a true reflection of what I expected from Olivia Palermo…

Except the absence of a mascara, the collection features pretty much every ‘color product’ you need to create countless daytime looks which can also be transitioned into night time looks. The packaging is embossed with black leather/stingray design and features gold font and casing which Olivia says are a combination of all the things she’s personally drawn to.

Having such a minimalist yet classic look to her, the colors featured within the collection are mainly neutrals. The Nine Shade Smokey Suede eyeshadow palette has a good balance of earthy browns with hints of color thrown into the mix. I think inclusion ofΒ a matte black color would have really taken this palette to an all round versatile level.

Lipsticks are also within neutral family with the exception of a classic red. These are all satin finish which in my opinion are theΒ safestΒ textures to appeal to a wider audience. There are two gel kohl liners in black and purple to dial up the looks for night time. Typically a ‘gel kohl’Β formula would have a pretty opaque and smooth application and also easy to smudge for smoky looks.

Also in this collection are two additional nail polish colors to tie in with the initial 3-color collection. A rich berry red and a deep purple which offer a more sexy/vampy option to the existing line.

Paint Pots in New England Fall and Napa Valley, $24each

Last but not least are the bronzer/blush duos and although there’s a lighter and a darker version, I still would have liked to see a greater contrast between the two shades so deeper skin tones could also be catered for.

In summary, I think the packaging is beautiful and knowing the quality within Ciate London’s existing products, I’m quite certain the products will perform well too. If you’re a fan of Olivia Palermo and/or want to try a brand new line of makeup products, this collection would be a great option.

What do youΒ beauties think about this new line?

Hi Sarah…. Thank you for this post!! I received a few complimentary pieces from Olivia’s collection. I am enjoying them, especially the Fig Gel Kohl Liner, reminds me of the Bobbi Brown Kohl liners. Very proud of her branching out and getting this deal, good for her. Hope all is well with you, enjoy the rest of your week. : )

What a gorgeous collection! All the colors are beautiful, eye colors are soft enough to be perfectly smokey, and the nail colors are spot on for fall. Love!

I agree Jeanette, capsule collections like this don’t usually feature so many well thought out pieces. They did really well :)
