BeautyProduct Reviews NYX Ombre Blush August 16, 2016 I go through phases where I purchase back to back high end products or drugstore goodies. I’m going through one of my drugstore phases lately and I picked up so many amazing products! My latest drugstore favorite is NYX Ombre Blush. They’re super pretty to look at but the best part is they feature a gradient of color from blush to highlighter all in the one compact… NYX Ombre Blushes Just recently, I did a detailed review of Kevyn Aucoin’s Neo Bronzer – which is an ombre highlighter/blush/bronzer trio. I absolutely adore that compact so when I saw the same concept in the NYX Ombre Blushes, I had to try them. Although the quality and application of the Kevyn Aucoin Neo Bronzer is noticeably better, these NYX Ombre Blushes are a great alternative at a fraction of the cost. The NYX Ombre blushes retail at $10 on average – depending on the drugstore and sales. NYX Ombre Blush: Nude To Me / Strictly Chic / Soft Flush Each blush compact starts off from the most intense color payoff and slowly merges into a shimmering highlighter. Some of the colors feature shimmer throughout, others are matte on the blush end before they get to the shimmery highlighter end. I picked up three of my favorite colors which are more on the neutral/peachy side and I’m really happy with all of them. A small dab of the brush picks up plenty of color, they blend well and last all day. You can use the different colors separately or swirl a brush through the whole product to get a shimmering flush of color. NUDE TO ME – STRICTLY CHIC – SOFT FLUSH Nude To Me was my first choice. I wanted a slightly warmer, terracotta type of bronzer and this color is exactly that. The warmth definitely carries through from the blush into the highlighter – as there’s a soft golden champagne undertone to it. The blush/bronzer component is also shimmery. This is a beautiful compact all round. NYX Ombre Blush – Nude To Me Next up is Strictly Chic which is a gorgeous peach with orange undertones. This is along the lines of blush colors I enjoy the most. They always add a touch of healthy flush to the cheeks and compliment all skin tones. The blush end is a satin finish. You get a hint of glow but it’s definitely not shimmery like Nude To Me. The highlighter end again carries the undertones of the blush itself – a soft peach champagne which is gorgeous. NYX Ombre Blush – Strictly Chic Contrary to its name Soft Flush, this is the brightest and more vivid of the three. It’s a gorgeous coral with pink undertones and the color payoff is stronger than the other two shades. It definitely needs a light hand when it comes to application. The blush end is satin finish and the highlighter is a soft pink with a cooler shimmer. This color would look amazing on deeper skin tones. NYX Ombre Blush – Soft Flush The NYX Ombre Blushes are available in 8 colors. From more natural shades to brilliant brights, there’s basically a color to suit all skin tones -which is great to see in a drugstore product. Here’s the full collection of NYX Ombre Blushes If you’re after a new blush, or would like to try an ombre compact, these blushes offer a great variety of colors at an affordable price. NYX Ombre Blushes are available at drugstores or can be purchased on the NYX website What do you think of these ombre blushes? Any favorites? Thank you for sharing these as alternatives. Which one of these would be the closest to the Kevyn aucoin bronzer? Reply Sarah August 18, 2016 at 8:32 am Hi Jacinta, a combination of Nude To Me and Strictly Chic would give you the closest combo to the Neo Bronzer. If you’re only after a similar blush shade, then Strictly Chic carries similar peachy tones to the Neo Bronzer :) Reply Melanie August 17, 2016 at 8:27 am I like all the colors you have and Sweet Spring. The swatches look so good! Thanks for the review Sarah. Reply Sarah August 18, 2016 at 8:31 am Thanks Melanie!!
