New Colourpop Goodies

November 16, 2016

Hi beauties! I know, I’ve been MIA for a while. Sometimes a break from the internet and social media is necessary to recharge the batteries but I did miss you all and I’m happy to be back to business as usual.

Just as we were taking in all the fall collections, out came the holiday collections and all else in between. I’ll do a separate post on all the products I’ve been scoping but today is all about some new Colourpop goodies I picked up…

Colourpop 2016

Colourpop 2016

2016 has been one of my favorite years in terms of makeup color trends. I’ve always been a huge fan of warm colors and there’s been no shortage of warm rustic browns, golds, rich caramels, burgundy, dirty peach and the list goes on. I’ve been in warm makeup heaven this year!

Although there have been many medium-high end launches featuring this color palette, Colourpop has definitely come to the party with their own products…at a fraction of the cost as always. Along with their fall collection, they also launched a super cute Hello Kitty Collection, exclusive gift packs and their holiday collection. You can check out all their new releases on the Colourpop website

Here are the products that I picked up and fell in love with at first swatch, so to speak…

ZINGARA EYESHADOW QUAD – $18

If like me, you’ve been loving the warm color trend, you will adore this eyeshadow quad. Featuring pearlized, satin and matte finishes, this quad is like a capsule version of Anastasia’s best selling Modern Renaissance palette

All the colors are insanely pigmented. The swatches below are a single swipe and once they set, they’re not going anywhere. Even after using a makeup wipe, I still had some residue. The shadows are also available for individual purchase.

BARDOT CHEEK COLOR $8 / SHAMELESS EYESHADOW $5

The cheek color Bardot is a rich coppery bronze with shimmer. It’s such a perfect universal color that depending on your skin tone, you can use it as a blush, highlighter, bronzer or simply an eyeshadow. It’s even more stunning in person.

The eyeshadow Shameless is a metallic. The base color is matte black and it’s laced with green, blue and gold shimmer so it’s got a gorgeous multi dimensional finish.

I wanted this color for an easy yet eye catching smoky eye. A transition color like the Elixir shadow from the Zingara quad in the crease, coupled with a single swipe of Shameless on the eyelid will take you 2 minutes to apply, yet look like you’ve spent hours on it. And you know, I’m all about practical yet effective results so big thumbs up for this shadow!

LIP PRODUCTS $5-$6

Last but not least is a collection of lip products. From the color range, you can probably tell that I’ve been on the hunt for warm peachy, caramel nudes lately. Colourpop definitely came through in this department and although I only picked up the colors below, there are so many other shades and finishes which are available on their website

Brink lipliner has a slight bit of pink/mauve undertone but it looks fine when blended in with any of the lipstick colors I featured below.

Hotline is a matte finish and described as a dirty-peach. It feels really light on the lips and has even coverage.

Screenshot is an Ultra Satin liquid lipstick. It’s not budge proof like the ultra matte formulas. It’s described as a mid tone peach.

Airplane Mode is an Ultra Matte formula which means it sets and is in fact budge-proof. It’s described as dirty peach and it’s quite similar to Screenshot so it’s a matter of which formula you prefer.

I’ve always been a fan of Colourpop and although they release a new product practically every week and it can be hard to keep tabs on them, they continue to have an amazing variety of products at super affordable prices. They do ship internationally and offer different shipping deals for both domestic and international.

As mentioned before, currently they have quite a few different collections on their website, as well as their permanent line so be sure to check them out.
