I really appreciate it when cosmetics brands include matte products within their makeup lines. As much as the glowing shimmery products will always have a special place in my heart, nothing replaces the clean modern look of matte products.
Enter: NARS Matte Multiple Collection…
If you’re familiar with NARS products, you would have seen their Multiples range of cream color sticks (which double up as cheek and lip products). Up until now, NARS The Multiples range all contained shimmer. I love the versatility and easy use of the Multiples and have been using my favorite shades Laguna and South Beach for years. I’ve included swatches of these for you at the end of the post.
Riding on the success of The Multiples, NARS has just launched seven new Matte shades to be included in their permanent line. Featuring three bronze/brown and four vibrant shades to dress up your cheeks and lips, I know these new additions will follow suit as cult favorites in the Multiples line.

Anguila: Ginger pink; Laos: Rose coral; Exumas: Pink apricot; Siam: Poppy red;
Altai: Rose bronze; Vientiane: Copper bronze; Cappadoce: Golden bronze
The only downside of the new Matte Multiples that I noticed so far is the size vs price. The original Multiple range contains 0.50oz of product, the Matte Multiple range contains 0.26oz yet they both cost $39- I’m hoping the fact that the matte colors are highly pigmented will make up for the price issue, as less product will be needed to achieve good color pay-off.
If you’re still keen on the shimmer factor however, here’s a look at my all time favorite NARS The Multiple sticks in Laguna & South Beach. They apply beautifully, blend very easily and give the most amazing sheen to the cheeks or lips.
There are 14 shades in total and you can get them HERE
Laguna: Brown with gold shimmer; South Beach: Light shimmering apricot
