Just when I think “OK, I’m done with highlighters now”, out comes another irresistible product. And of course, if you’re a makeup junkie like me, you know there’s no fighting the inevitable and you become a proud owner of yet another highlighter…or three.
That’s precisely what happened when Melt Cosmetics launched their new Digital Dust Highlighters. Now that they’re here glistening at me from my desk, let me tell you why you NEED these “masterpieces” in your life…
Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Highlighters
Those of you who’ve been following me for some time, know that I’m a devout fan of Melt Cosmetics products. The fact that they’re a niche brand, creating vegan/cruelty free products, with the added bonus of having an edgy vibe really resonates with me.
Melt Cosmetics has been hinting at these new highlighters for quite some time now and the wait was definitely worth it. With 3 amazing and universally flattering colors, these babies definitely have the wow factor on all fronts.
The slimline compacts with the embossed Melt Cosmetics font (over the product itself) are so mesmerizing, I could just display them as center pieces and stare at them in awe. I’m sure with so much appeal, you’ll understand why I had to make this post more visual heavy…

The way Melt Cosmetics describes these powder highlighters is pretty much spot on, especially now that I got to test them:
Digital Dust Highlighters were designed to exquisitely capture light. A revolutionary texture that combines all the best features of baked, powder, cream and fluid in one.
The texture of these highlighters is definitely a selling point. As metallic as they look in the pan, they actually apply quite soft and leave more of a glowy, smooth finish. This also makes the product buildable so you can apply it as sheer or intense as you wish.
The powders can be further intensified by spraying the brushes with water or finishing spray. I’m also looking forward to using them as eyeshadows.
Now, onto the colors…There are 3 gorgeous shades within this line.
Stargazer the lightest shade is described as a soft nude champagne with a starry hue. This definitely carries cooler undertones compared to the other two but it’s sheer enough to suit all skin tones…again, due to the extra smooth skin-like finish the formula provides.
Gold Ore the medium shade is described as pure warm sunlight tone. This happens to be my favorite as I’m naturally drawn to warm undertones. It definitely has a prominent gold sheen and can be worn all over for a healthy glow.
Nova the darkest shade is described as warmest medium tone which can also be used as a bronzer. Initially I thought this color would be too dark on my medium skin tone but the brand’s claims of it doubling up as a bronzer were confirmed as soon as I tried it. Again, due to the amazing formula of these highlighters, all the colors are really easy to work with. So, if you have light/medium skin tone, Nova makes for a gorgeous bronzer/blush; and for darker skin tones it provides a stunning warm highlight.

Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Highlighters
In terms of color variety, texture, finish and overall quality, these highlighters are definitely a must – especially if you love your highlighters.
I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a limited edition box set featuring all 3 of the full sized compacts at a discounted price of $100 – which may still be available (or be re-stocked) on the Melt Cosmetics website, so I’d highly recommend getting the set if you’re able to.
Otherwise, each compact retails at $39 and if you’re contemplating which one to get (if not all), Gold Ore is truly stunning.
What do you think of the Digital Dust Highlighters? Which one is your favorite?
