Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter Stack

by Sarah

Just when I think I’m done with eyeshadows, another palette calls my name (so loud and persistently) that I think: “it needs me, it just needs me!”. Latest addition to my collection is Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter Stack.

This 4-color “all matte” eyeshadow palette is not a new release, in fact it’s been around for a while. I had purchased so many palettes at the time of its release that although it always intrigued me, I just ignored my urge. Of course me not having much will power when it comes to makeup that I know I’ll love, it was only a matter of time til I got my hands on it. And I’m so glad I did…

The most unique feature of this palette and why it’s called a “stack” is because each eyeshadow pan is magnetised so you can split the colors up into your favorites if need be – whether that’s a single shadow, 2 or 3 or stack them altogether. The lid with the Melt brand stamped on it has a round mirror on the other side. If you travel often as I do, you too would love this palette.

Along with the compact design, what kept drawing me to this palette are the colors. It’s such a well thought out color palette that no matter the season, whether you’re into subtle day or dramatic night looks, this palette will cater for it. Mixing certain colors together also creates different tones of earthy neutrals so you can custom mix the shade that works best for your skin tone and preference.

The two lighter shades Blurr and Unseen make perfect base/transition colors. The color payoff is amazing and they blend seamlessly.

The red color Enigma is the star of this palette. It’s such a unique shade that’s quite hard to come by especially in a matte finish. This color is great for adding more warmth or do an amazing smokey eye with, especially for fall/winter makeup looks.

Last and definitely not least is the intense black which gives the palette its name: Dark Matter. You guys know I’m a big fan of matte black eyeshadows in any palette and the intensity/pigment of this black doesn’t disappoint. It packs an amazing amount of color and blends perfectly too.

There are so many looks that can be created with this palette. I’ll do a tutorial soon. Containing double the amount of product than standard eyeshadow pots and considering how pigmented the colors are, this palette will also go a long way.

Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter Stack retails at $48 and the website offers flat rate international shipping HERE

*The stack also comes in a more colorful version called Love Sick and the brand carries gorgeous matte lipsticks which they recently launched a set of nude shades called The Noods

This is why I love this blog! There’s always something different than other blogs which post the same mainstream products at the same time. I need this stack!!! can’t wait for the tutorial. Much love from London!

How smart! Simple idea, great essential colors. It’s a nice change from all the bells and whistles of the palettes we’ve been seeing. Definitely going on my Xmas list. Thanks Sarah!
