I get a lot of questions about eyebrows and how to shape them and what products to use etc, so I thought I’d take it right back to the basics and work our way up in a series of “brow posts”.
Eyebrows are detrimental to framing/shaping the face and facial features. Although none of us have “perfect brows” so to speak, especially when it comes to symmetry, even small adjustments can make a huge difference. As a starting point, I did a fun exercise of changing Adriana Lima’s eyebrows to show you how shape and size can affect the overall look of the face.
Please excuse the watermark on the photo, unfortunately I had some of my work stolen of late so I’m trying to tag all my work; I hope it’s not too obnoxious visually.
Brows, (as with fashion and makeup styles) continue to evolve, but regardless of the trends, thicker and fuller brows have proven to promote a more natural and youthful look.
I must put a disclaimer though: there’s nothing wrong with thin brows, it has to be what you feel comfortable with. However, if you have thin or over-plucked brows and you’d like to change the shape, brows are very stubborn and it can be very hard to grow them back to their natural state. So whether you are wanting to change the shape altogether or improve on what you already have, this is where eyebrow tips and tricks come into play where we either groom the brows to suit the face, or create/shape the brows with brow products. I will do a detailed post on this soon.
As this post is all about how eyebrows can change our overall look, I compiled a series of before and after photos of some celebrities, so you can see the difference in their looks. Notice as they get older, their eyebrows are getting thicker ;)
Next up in the eyebrow series, I will go through how to choose the right shape for your brows and some important pointers to keep in mind when doing so. If you have any comments or questions, leave them below for me ;) xx
