Girlactik Beauty

by Sarah

OK beauties, grab your tea/coffee and sit back cos you don’t wanna miss this post. I’ve been known over the years to call if a makeup brand would hit it big and I’m proud to say I haven’t failed yet :) So mark my words when I say: you’ll be seeing and hearing a lot about today’s feature brand: Girlactik Beauty.

I got my hands on some of the key products and although there will be a makeup tutorial coming up, I thought I’d show you the swatches so you can start making your Girlactik wish list without delay…

Girlactik

Founded by Galit Strugano – who by the way is so sweet, she’s never too busy to answer questions or help out with enquiries – Girlactik pretty much has everything you could need in a makeup line. From primers, foundations, concealers and powders to the most gorgeous range of blushes, bronzers, lip and eye products, it was definitely hard to narrow it down to my absolute “must haves” – not to say I’ll stop here of course ;)

The packaging is so glamorously pretty. The shiny mirrored effect of slim casings laced with pink font and a boudoir style design is really eye catching. They’re just really pretty products to look at before even getting to using them.

FACE GLOW POWDER – Bronze

Admittedly, I have a weakness for shimmery highlight products, but I’m also very fussy. I don’t like sparkle or chunky glitter formulas, the color also has to be warm and natural rather than frosty or yellow gold. When I opened the lid of this Face Glow, I reckon I stared at it for a good 5mins in admiration before finally snapping out of it. This is perfection in a compact!

Girlactik

Face Glow in Bronze

Face Glow ($25) is available in 2 colors – Bronze as per picture and Natural which is a lighter shade. This luxurious powder has finely milled shimmers throughout which basically glides over the skin like butter. It gives off the prettiest glow, as if you’re walking around with a soft light over your face. Color wise, don’t be fooled by the name bronze, although it has a soft peachy/bronze undertone, it’s definitely a highlighting product to add a glow to your cheeks or to brighten your matte bronzer or blush.

* If you want a similar glow/highlight but prefer a different formula than powder, you can try Skin Glow (cream formula) or Face Glimmer (liquid formula).

LE CREME LIPSTICK – Naked / STAR GLOSS – Just Nude

As soon as I saw these two colors, I knew they were meant for each other…and for me! :) I love nude lip colors so it wasn’t hard to fall in love with this combo. Worn on their own or together, these two create the perfect nude lip to wear with everyday looks or pair up with dramatic smokey eyes.

Girlactik

Le Creme Lipstick in Naked / Star Gloss in Just Nude

Le Creme Lipstick ($22) – the formula is what I personally look for in a good lipstick – it’s creamy, not too glossy, not too matte and gives the lips a perfect sheen. It also wears off really well leaving a soft veil of color behind.

Star Gloss ($18) – again, the formula is a standout. It goes on creamy, distributing close to opaque color but it’s not oily feeling nor the other extreme being sticky.

* If you prefer a super glossy pout, bold statement color or any of the new release matte shades – you’ll be sure to find a favorite within the lipstick range HERE

SPARKLE EYE LINER – BASE + SPARKLE SET

I saved the “sparkly” one to last but I promise it’s well worth the glistening finale. With the holidays just around the corner and parties to attend, there are so many different looks you can create with this one set – which I’ll show you in my upcoming tutorial so stay tuned ;)

Girlactik

Sparkle Eye Liner Set in Gunmetal – Black cream base; Gunmetal sparkle; base and Gunmetal layered

Sparkle Eyeliner Set ($20) – features a black cream base, sparkle color and a sponge tip applicator. You can use the black cream formula either as a base to layer different eyeshadows/sparkles on top, or use it as an eyeliner. It’s a creamy opaque formula, goes on very smooth and sets fairly quickly too.

The sparkle color is super fine so it doesn’t look too harsh or chunky. I got the Gunmetal color as I love the gray/blue tone which is a great contrast against the silver shimmers scattered throughout. It can be used on its own or layered over the black base which turns it into a dramatic rich sparkle. With this baby adorning your eyes, you probably won’t need much accessory for your night time looks. It looks stunning!

* The sparkle pots come in many colors including beautiful golds and bronzes, purples, greens and blues and you can also purchase them individually. Single sparkle colors are $11 each HERE

In summary: quality, pigment, texture, color variety and packaging are all very important factors in catching that “just perfect” balance when it comes to makeup products and Girlactik Beauty definitely mastered the formula.

Add to that the products being cruelty free and the company offering international shipping, what more could we want?…other than more Girlactik products right! :)

Your reviews are always so informative. I have a question about the highlight powder. I’ve been looking at getting Becca Topaz but I love this Girlactik one too. I’m confused now, what do you think?

Hi Natalie, thank you so much! Texture wise, they’re both similar, very smooth and glowy. Where they differ is the color. Topaz is more of a coppery bronze and it’s darker than the Girlactik. It depends what your skin tone is but I just really love how soft and natural this Bronze color is. As I mentioned in the post too, it’s also perfect to layer over bronzers and blushes so it’s more flexible in that regard too. Hope this helps you decide ;) xx

Photos don’t do it justice actually. It looks even prettier in person. There are so many other gorgeous colors but me loving earthy tones, I have my eye on a few of the brown and bronze shades. There’s also a stunning purple if you like a pop of color.

Thank you Melissa! Yes the Face Glow powder is really beautiful. If I weren’t such a highlighter freak and didn’t have a million compacts already, I would grab the Natural color too…OK, who am I kidding? I’ll probably end up getting it anyway :))
