Before makeup primers became mainstream, skin prep was done using skincare – whether it’d be moisturizers, oils or serums. So we not only got a polished base to apply makeup onto, we also got the skincare benefits. Practical, effective and fuss free!
Dior’s new line of Capture Youth Serums caught my attention for this very reason. They’re a great way to incorporate skincare into our daily makeup application and let them do the work in transforming our skin…

Dior Capture Youth Serums
I know I keep highlighting the importance of skincare, as it’s not only vital for the overall health of our skin but it also helps create the perfect canvas for flawless makeup application.
When our skin is at its prime, we use less makeup, need less coverage and have that “glow from within” look.
Dior Capture Youth Serums are designed to do just that. Available in 5 formulas packed with antioxidants, extracts and vitamins, there’s a serum to cater for different skin type/need.
Capture Youth line also features an Age Delay Advanced Creme which can be used in conjunction with the serums to help boost the effects depending on your needs.
Dior Capture Youth Serums
The common theme for the serums is Age-Delay. In Dior’s specific descriptions, here’s a run down of each serum:
Plump Filler: A true concentrate of hydration. The power of hyaluronic acid extracted from fermented wheat nourishes and acts on the epidermis for plump, supple skin and boosted elasticity.
Glow Booster: End of dull skin. Infused with Murunga plum, known to be 100 times more concentrated in Vitamin C, this serum restores radiance and combats complexion irregularities for glowing, even skin.
Matte Maximizer: Daily solution for combination skin. Lactic acid extracted from sugar cane combined with pink clay and gluconate regulates excessive shine and tightens the pores to mattify the skin and refine skin’s texture.
Lift Sculptor: Tightening, anti-slacking formula to sculpt the skin. Infused with polyphenols from a blend of teas, this serum combats lack of tone and elasticity to reveal firmed skin and clearly defined contours.
Redness Soother: The ideal solution for reactive skin. Cotton peptides help protect the skin from outside aggressors and neutralizes redness to soothe the skin and balance even skin tone.
I really like the practicality of these serums. I know it can be challenging to make time for skincare so applying a layer of these serums under makeup is a great way to feed our skin the nourishment it needs.

Wow these sound amazing. I need to try the redness soother! I like skincare as a base, Bobbi Brown’s vitamin enriched face base is a firm favourite.

Thanks for sharing your favorite Amy! I’ll have to check that out next time I go shopping :)
I’d get the Glow Booster. I get dry skin and it can look really dull. The bottles look really pretty.
I use the Laura mercier original primer and I always feel like its just a moisturiser. Makes total sense why these serums would work under primers. Always a fresh approach to beauty on your site. Thanks Sarah!
I meant under makeup lol
I may have to invest in the Matte Maximizer!
