In the last few years, but prominently this past year, more high end designer labels have been releasing their own cosmetics lines. With Giorgio Armani and Tom Ford achieving great success with their cosmetics lines, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and just recently Tory Burch have announced the introduction of their own beauty products.
I only had a chance to try the Tom Ford products to date, which I can’t say enough good things about the quality, but with gorgeous packaging and drool-worthy ad campaigns, I thought I’d do a FYI post to update you guys on the newer lines too ;)
TOM FORD
The quality of Tom Ford products really speak for themselves. The eyeshadows glide over the skin like silk, lipsticks are super pigmented and buttery and that packaging! If you’d like to treat yourself, I can definitely recommend this line – my personal favourite is the eyeshadow quad in Cognac Sable. Tom Ford products are available from select department stores and you can check the full range and stores here
MARC JACOBS
Now available at Sephora, Marc Jacobs has only recently launched his full line of cosmetics. I love the little egg-shaped nail polish and foundation bottles, and there seems to be a good variety of colors to choose from. So far I’ve heard good things regarding quality and color payoff and I’m particularly interested in the lipsticks. You can purchase the Marc Jacobs line of cosmetics from Sephora – here
MICHAEL KORS
After a very successful clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories and fragrance line, Michael Kors has finally released his cosmetics line this month. And going by the packaging and ad campaign so far, it looks like he will be adding yet another success to his empire. This line is released in three color sets – Sporty (nude and neutral tones); Sexy (bright and red shades) and Glam (deeper tones). There are no base products such as foundations, concealer and powders; however there’s a self tanner and after-sun gel within the range. You can see and purchase the full range of Michael Kors beauty line here
TORY BURCH
The news of Tory Burch releasing her own beauty line is literally hot off the press; as the products themselves won’t be launched until the end of September. For now, the line only consists of a signature pink-nude lipstick, similar shade of lip/cheek tint, bronzer blush, retractable brush, fragrance, candle, shower gel and body lotion. It’s been reported that the line will be available at Tory Burch boutiques and website, as well as select Bloomingdale’s stores.
What do you guys think about these new lines? Do you have a favourite?
