LIPPIE PENCILS & LIPPIE STIX
It’s Colourpop time again! After my post on Colourpop’s Super Shock eyeshadows (review/swatches here and makeup tutorial here), I can finally introduce you guys to Colourpop’s ‘just as amazing’ lip products!
As with the eyeshadows, it was so hard to choose from the gorgeous variety of lip colors. I was lucky enough to make it just in time for one of their pre-designed packs before they sold out. The pack featured 3 lip pencils and 3 lippie stix but fear not:
*Colourpop releases different packs from time to time; *Packs are the same price as if you were to purchase the products individually (which is $5 each); *All the colors featured in this post are available to purchase on the Colourpop website.
I think I ended up with a good range of colors but of course there’s always room for more ;)
The way Colourpop matched up their lip products is quite interesting actually. Each lip color has a corresponding lipstick BUT…some of the names are the same, some are different and the colors are also not exactly the same. Confused yet? Here’s how it works:
Colourpop designed the colors to work separately, as well as in unison with their lip pencil/lipstick counterparts. Even if a lip pencil is not exactly the same color as its matching lipstick, when worn together, they create the perfect blend. When worn on their own or with other colors, you get to create a completely different mix of your choice.
The lippie stix come in matte, satin and hyper gloss finishes so this also affects the final result…in a good way of course :)
Pack included: Cookie, Confetti, Cheers + Skimpy, Bossy, LBB ; I purchased Frida lipstick and Frida lip pencil separately
Lippie Stix: Cookie, Frida, Confetti, Cheers / Lippie Pencils: Skimpy, Frida, Bossy, LBB
The formula of both the lip pencils and lipsticks are super soft and smooth. Regardless of the finish, none of the formulas applied patchy or dry. The pigmentation is amazing and each finish lives up to the claims of delivering rich and opaque color at first swipe.
I can’t say enough good things about these products. The two nudes are perfect in their own field, with Cookie having a neutral/beige undertone and Frida having a hint of pink. Again, the matching lipliners have slight variances in shade but they just work so well together – which also takes the guesswork out of trying to figure out which lipliner would go with which lipstick.
The more vibrant colors Confetti and Cheers look stunning when worn at their full color potential but they also make great stains if you prefer a soft wash of color dabbed on the lips. I also really enjoy wearing Bossy lip pencil on its own as it’s the prettiest red with a blue/pink undertone.
As per the eyeshadows, all Colourpop lip products are $5 each and they have so many more colors available. Visit Colourpop website to find your perfect match…or random match – depending on your preference :)
