Colourpop KaePop Collection

February 10, 2016

I have NO self control when it comes to neutral/earthy/brown colors with makeup so when Colourpop Cosmetics launched their new KaePop Collection, I couldn’t place my order fast enough.

Featuring an eyeshadow quad, blush, bronzer, highlighter and 3x lip liners with 3x corresponding liquid lipsticks, I selected a range of products that I was personally drawn to – but scroll down to see the full collection at the end of the post.

This latest collaboration from Colourpop is with Karrueche Tran, who’s a model and face of many other brand collabs. Her flawless skin and amazing skin tone transcends into this collection with a color family which would look amazing on especially deeper/darker skin tones.

I picked up the eyeshadow quad, Chi – the lightest of the liquid lipsticks and Flush’d – the blush.

The formula of the products is exactly the same as Colourpop’s permanent line. Better applied with fingers, the eyeshadows and the blush are that creamy/mousse consistency and have great color payoff. The liquid lipstick applies quite opaque and dries to a matte finish.

The eyeshadow quad is stunning! It features a soft champagne shimmer (Sunset Blvd), a matte base/transition color (Wilshire), a gorgeous milk chocolate matte shade (Crenshaw) and the red/wine shade (Beverly) which is perfect for a pop of color. *Beverly looks almost like a dark burgundy/brown in the pot but applies quite red. The quad is $20 but you can also purchase these shadows individually at $5 each.

The blush named Flush’d is that perfect peach to compliment many skin tones. It’s a flat/matte finish so you can apply highlighter over it for that added glow. Colourpop blushes are $8 each.

The liquid lipstick named Chi is the lightest of the lip colors and comes with a corresponding lip liner but I find Colourpop’s liquid lipstick wands are quite precise so I don’t use lipliners with them. This color looks much lighter in the tube – I’d say almost like a caramel/nude. But as seen in the swatch too, it turns much darker with a cooler undertone when it fully dries. I would have loved the color to apply same as what it looks like in the tube but I’ll still make use of this to define the outer perimeter of my lips and apply a lighter shade to achieve a more ombre/nude lip. Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks are $6 each.
