After the release of his very first nail color collection last year – introduction post here, Christian Louboutin has just launched three limited edition nail polish shades within the new Scarabee Collection. And in typical Louboutin fashion, they demand attention…
This collection is a great example of how inspiration can come from basically anything. Here’s the interesting story of how this collection came about:
Christian Louboutin found his muse in a key piece of Egyptian iconography, the scarab beetle. The iridescent beauty and wonder of this creature sacred to the Pharaohs, inspired three new shades of nail colour – the Scarabée Limited Edition Collection. “They can look beautiful and reflective under the bright sun but also look like a precious jewel by night” says the designer.
There are three shades within this collection, simply named Scarabee I, Scarabee II and Scarabee III. Each color contains pigment pearls that reflect two shades at once, creating unique reflections – just like the colors on scarab beetles.

Scarabee I – Scarabee II – Scarabee III
Scarabee I is nude/pink gold; Scarabee II is a teal blue with violet hues and Scarabee III is a green/bronze. As with the existing Louboutin nail color line, these polishes are also long wearing, chip resistant and have an opaque 1-coat formula with a glossy finish. The formula is also paraben, sulphate and phthalate free.
The Scarabee nail colors are $50 each – same price as the existing line and now available to purchase here
