UPDATE: Rouge Louboutin is now available at Sephora – get it HERE
There’s no denying the influence the infamous ‘red-bottom’ shoes have had on the fashion world. It’s amazing how such a simple idea can turn into something so iconic. It’s only natural that some may wonder what the connection may be between shoes and nail polish but there’s a perfectly good explanation behind Christian Louboutin’s new nail polish line release…
It was originally a red nail polish which gave Christian Louboutin the idea of lining the soles of his famous shoes with such color. And after such immense success, as he says, ‘he’s giving back to nails what the shoe took from the nails many years ago’.
The star of the nail color line is Rouge Louboutin which is the iconic red. Encased in a beautiful crystal bottle, the handle is inspired by the 8-inch heel of the Ballerina Ultima design. The formula itself is supposed to be opaque and creamy delivering high pigment full coverage with two coats maximum.
But that’s not where it ends. In the fashion of many colors and designs of amazing line of shoes that were born to the Louboutin family, the nail color range expands into Beauté collection featuring 3 categories of 30 amazing polishes: The Pops, The Nudes and The Noirs.

The Pops feature fun and bright colors with silver caps.
The Nudes feature creamy shades of soft pinks, vanilla and chocolate shades with rose gold caps.
The Noirs feature rich intense shades of dark blues, browns and reds with gunmetal caps.
Louboutin nail colors retail at $50. Rouge Louboutin is now available on the Christian Louboutin’s UK website here and will be released in the shoe departments of high end department stores such as Saks, Selfridges and Harrods from August 6th. The remainder of the collection will be released end of August/September 2014.
I don’t think I’ll be the first to run out and grab one of these polishes, however for fashion and shoe lovers…particularly Louboutin fans out there, this would be an amazing treat for you or someone as a special gift. I’m not sure if Mr Louboutin has any plans to further expand his new venture into a line of lipsticks…maybe an iconic red followed by more shades? but I guess we’ll have to watch this space :)
What do you guys think about the Louboutin line of nail polishes? Would you purchase one? xx
