After tapping into the beauty industry with his nail polish and lipstick line, it seems Christian Louboutin is proving to be quite the contender in his field. He’s just launched his very first line of fragrances and I’m in awe of the bottles alone.
Christian Louboutin Fragrances
As with all his creations, Christian Louboutin was involved in the creative process of these fragrances from start to finish. And having read through the inspiration behind each fragrance, the design of the bottles and the overall feel of it all, this whole line definitely screams the Louboutin signature.
I wanted to celebrate woman and her desires. I wanted these fragrances to enhance an aspect of her personality, or perhaps reveal something about her that no one knew before, maybe not even her, tell a secret, a story. I want to give women the means to express themselves and to delight in their femininity… Christian Louboutin
There are 3 fragrances within this line which are now available at Sephora: Bikini Questa Sera, Tornade Blonde and Trouble In Heaven
Bikini Questa Sera – Tornade Blonde – Trouble In Heaven
Christian Louboutin Fragrances
The bottle itself was designed by Heatherwick Studios renowned for their design work for major projects around the world. The twists and the color gradients through the glass reflects light almost as a crystal would. If you’re a fragrance collector or love unique bottles, these would be stunning additions to your collection
The design concept for the bottles was based on the idea of folding surfaces, manipulating and twisting glass to create a dynamic and harmonious flow. The bottle is made from glass with a central aperture, which makes a loop of the fragrance. Christian wanted somehow to create a flow of fragrance within the bottles as he is fascinated by the idea that “liquid is alive”, meaning that the liquid has movement and life within the bottle
And here are some details about the fragrances and the inspiration behind each scent and the colors they represent:
Intimate, hot and compelling it takes the heat into the night. The scent of the sun which becomes the scent of the woman as day turns into night.
Opalescent against the skin, jasmine and tuberose shimmer in the moonlight.
The colours of the bottle evoke the heat and sensuality of the fragrance. The deep amber and warm gold are inspired by the intense colours of an Egyptian sunset, a time of day and place both dear to Christian.
Not a colour, but a fragrance and a state of mind. Feminine and potent, animalistic yet floral. Leaving a trail of golden light like a comet in the night, it is a burst of potent sensuality and an invitation to follow.
The scent of love and adventure, a gorgeous red rose lies deep in a bed of sweet violet and cassis. It is the scent of desire.
The iridescence of the fragrance’s spirit is reflected in the colours of the bottle, A warm garnet meets a glowing light gold ombré, a combination that is both daring and enchanting.
Lights the fire. Mysterious and sexy, for the woman who wants to provoke and who is at ease with her provocation. Both intimate and overt, an intoxicating fragrance to wear close to you, to be loved by others.
A second skin or perfect iris, patchouli and tonka absolut resonates with the dry heat of oriental amber.
A sophisticated fragrance resonating in the royal purple and gold ombré reminiscent of the perfect iris, a flower at the heart of the fragrance. For Christian, these colours also recall the palette of the great French Art Nouveau glass artist, Emile Gallé.
