Yes I know…you’re probably thinking: what’s the point of doing a perfume review when it’s all about the smell, and obviously a blog post is really not going to cut it. However, you guys know by now that I have to jump on here and tell you all about my favorites so you can at least keep them in mind when you’re out shopping…it just might become your new favorite too ;)
For years, my signature perfume was Gucci by Gucci. It’s the one in the dark brown bottle with the gold charms. I loved the spicy punch it had, yet it was still feminine. But as I neared the end of my last bottle, I decided it was time for a change. I’ve had Chanel Coco Mademoiselle in mind for some time and sure enough…it had me at the very first sniff…
Described by Chanel as an “oriental scent with a floral jasmine-rose accord”, Coco Mademoiselle is definitely on the softer, more romantic side but there’s a slight fizz to the scent which packs a good “sexy” punch in there. I’m not usually big on floral scents so for me to fall in love with this perfume is a good indication that it has a great balance of soft yet sexy.
I know perfume wears differently on different skins but my personal experience is that it has great staying power and even the lighter notes after a few hours of wear stay true to the initial scent.
The bottle of Coco Mademoiselle is simple yet classic. I keep my perfumes in their outer packaging to protect them from sunlight and the outer box is also classic Chanel which looks very elegant.
As well as Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette, Coco Mademoiselle range is also available in body products such as moisturisers, shower gel/foam too. The fragrance itself starts at $68 and some stores offer limited edition packs. I’ve included some links below ;)
While we’re on the subject of Chanel, they’ve just released their 2014/15 Haute Couture runway show, which was amazing as usual. You can watch the full show HERE (see if you can spot Kendall Jenner in there)
What’s your favorite signature scent? xx
