Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation

by Sarah

And it’s finally here! The long awaited Stick Foundation by Anastasia Beverly Hills just launched and makeup lovers can’t contain their excitement for a very good reason.

Other than this being the very first foundation line for Anastasia, it isΒ possibly one of the most diverse color range I’ve seen from a makeup brand in a very long time…

Anastasia Beverly Hills Foundation Stick

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation

There are 30 colors altogether within this range. Although the formula is the same, 3 of these colors are contour sticks and oneΒ is a highlighter. The contour shades all have cool undertone which is perfect; the highlighter is called Banana and has a yellow undertone to brighten the skin.

Being a stick foundation, the formula is cream. It’s designed for combination/oily skin. *This does not mean you can’t use this foundation if you have dry skin. You would need to make sure you moisturize well or use a moisturizing primer with it.

The coverage is medium to full but it can be sheered down to a light coverage. I would consider the finish a natural satinΒ –Β not too dewy and not too matte either.

The ABH Stick FoundationsΒ are $25 each and come in a 0.32oz twist up tube.

Norvina, who basically does product development for the brand, has not left a stone unturned when creating the color range for these foundations. Skin tones can be very tricky to decode as each skin color has a tone, an undertone, depth and temperature (warm or cool).

Creating a foundation line which can basically cater for almost all skin tones is a huge task and one that not many brands get right. The colors are either limited, the tones are not right or they simply don’t perform. So, to have created aΒ foundation lineΒ which takes into account all the color variables is admirable to say the least.

Without confusing you too much, here’s how Anastasia Beverly Hills categorized their Stick Foundation colors so you can choose your correct shade:

The range is divided into 6 color categories and each category features different undertones such as neutral, pink, yellow, olive, golden and so on.

Choosing the right foundation is hard enough even when we can test them in the stores, so I knowΒ buying it online can be even more daunting.

I recently shared my tips and tricks on how to match your foundation color when shopping online, including what to look out for and pointers to make sure you get your closest match. Check out my post:Β How To Match Your Foundation Online

Hi Briana, ABH Mink Contour Stick would be a good match for NC45. It’s the darkest shade out of the 4 contour sticks but it won’t turn as muddy or ashy as the lighter colors against your warm undertone. Start with a very thin layer and build the color as needed so you have full control of how intense you want the contour to be. Hope that helps :)

Thanks for the help. Which foundation stick do you recommend for contouring?

Sarah March 7, 2018 - 8:38 am

NC45 is equivalent to ABH Amber so ABH Walnut (which is couple of shades deeper than that) would create a natural contour when applied lightly but also buildable – depending on the intensity you prefer.

Hi Paris, you’re the same coloring as me, so ABH Warm Natural foundation is the closest match. For contour, you can go for the color Fawn and for highlight, you can either do Banana which is brightening and slightly yellow undertone or for a more natural look, you can go couple of shades lighter in the foundation which would be Warm Porcelain :)

Hi Sara! It’s no bother at all. Based on NARS All Day Luminous in Santa Fe, you would be neutral (to slightly yellow) undertone. Your closest match in ABH stick foundation would be Beige. As for contour, if you’re after a true cool toned contour color, your best option would be the color Shadow. If you’re after a contour that’s a few shades darker than your foundation with similar undertones, then you can try ABH Warm Tan stick foundation. Hope that helps! :)

i actually found some other comments that you suggested the shadow shade for contour if your regular tone is warm ivory so that what i bought and i couldn’t be happier! So Warm Ivory goes as base and Shadow does a great contour! I was also thinking about getting Banana as a brightener, would you suggest that?

Sarah November 28, 2017 - 3:10 am

Hi Bee, firstly I truly apologise for missing your first comment. Being an older post, I think it got lost amongst the more recent comments. I’m happy to hear the previous comments helped you pick your contour shade as I would have suggested Shadow for you :)

As for highlight, Banana highlighter can throw off a slightly yellow undertone – especially if your base color is within the Fair to Light foundation range (which yours is). You can certainly try it but you could also consider going 2 shades lighter in the foundation range as your highlight.

Given you’re Warm Ivory, you can try the Warm Alabaster foundation stick as a highlight. This will provide the highlight you need but still be within your skin tone and hence look natural (rather than the yellow undertone of Banana highlighter) – if that makes sense.
Please let me know if you have any questions, again, apologies for missing your first comment xx

Hi Mari, Warm Natural would definitely be my first suggestion cos it’s the closest color to NC35 but not as yellow as the Studio Fix. If you feel it’s too light, your next option up would be Warm Tan. So you still have similar undertones but going one shade darker.

Hi Sarah,

I am really interested in purchasing the foundation stick but I feel like I am usually matched too light, so I often have to go back 2 or 3 times. I’m trying to avoid that. My shade is Santa Fe in Nars and Natural Beige in Born this way. What shade would you recommend for me in the ABH foundation stick?

Sarah September 5, 2017 - 8:09 am

Hi MJ, OK couple of questions to help me narrow down your color: Which NARS foundation are you referring to? Sheer Glow or All Day Lumious cos there’s a color/shade difference between the formulas.
Secondly, although the Born This Way Natural Beige is described as “neutral” undertone, I know the whole range runs quite yellow.
Which of the two foundations you mentioned matches you the best? That will be a good starting point to determine your color :)

Hello,
I am a 17 year old, and I have bad acne. I am on Accutane now and hoping my skin will some day stop breaking out. For now I am addicted to wearing Anastasia foundation stick to cover all the redness, bumps, and breakouts. However, I’m afraid that it is causing more problems with breakouts and I see that it is not noncomedoggenic. Can you give me some advice?

Sarah September 9, 2017 - 4:21 am

Hi Barbara! I know it can be challenging dealing with acne. I’m not sure if you’re using a primer under your foundation but having a veil of barrier between your skin and the foundation is usually a good starting point. Cover FX has an anti-acne primer which is specifically designed for this. It’s called Mattifying Anti Acne Primer. It has active ingredients to treat acne and form that protection over the skin so your pores don’t get clogged with products.

Another option, whenever you’re able to forego foundation, is to spot-conceal the problem areas with anti-blemish concealer. This will help cover the bulk of the redness and breakouts without clogging your skin overall. Clinique has an Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer range which contains products to keep your blemishes at bay whilst providing coverage. If you match it to your skin tone, it will blend in and even out the overall color of your skin.
I hope this helps; let me know if you have any other questions :)

Sarah August 6, 2017 - 6:27 am

Hi Ladaisha, with the Maybelline colors you mentioned, the 335 is a warm undertone, 338 is a neutral undertone so it makes it harder to establish your exact undertone. That said, if I took a combination of both, closest ABH match in terms of color would be Amber. It’s a warm undertone (which is close to 335) but slightly darker in color (which is closer to 338). Hope that helps :)

Hi Darah,

Thanks for reply. I think warm Ivory would be a bit dark on me. I use ceylan in nars sheer glow foundation! This matches me good.
What do you suggest matches ceylan?

Thanks alot:D

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah September 6, 2017 - 7:54 am

Hi Misha, NARS Ceylan is also equivalent to Warm Ivory. If you feel Warm Ivory would be too dark, then your only other options are to go one shade lighter to Warm Porcelain – (as I stated in my previous message is equivalent to MAC NC15), or the lightest shade in the ABH range which is Warm Alabaster.
If you use contour or bronzer, maybe try Warm Porcelain as a starting point. It’s lighter than Warm Ivory but if it’s a tad too light, you can still balance the color out with contour/bronzer. It’s always easier to deepen the color of a foundation than to lighten it. Hope that makes sense :)

I believe I have yellow undertones. In the past I’ve used Mac NC 45 . I also use Mac mineralized skinfinish Dark.
I believe I need either Amber or Carmel for base and maybe Walnut for contour but not certain. Which stick foundations would you recommend for base and contour for me? Thanks in advance! :)

Sarah April 7, 2017 - 4:12 am

Hi AJ, you’re right. ABH Caramel is the closest to NARS Tahoe and ABH Amber is closer to NC45. Given you’re also looking for a contour color, I usually recommend going for the lighter shade (ABH Caramel) as it’s easier to deepen the color of a foundation with contour/bronzers than to try and lighten it.

As for contour stick, if you’re after a “true” contour color which carries cool undertones, the ABH contour stick in Mink would be good. If you’re after a more natural contour, ABH foundation stick in Chestnut would complement Caramel really well.
Here’s a demonstration using these colors based on Caramel foundation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBBO6GYfloA

I’m more in the warm family and not the cool side.

Hi Adriana, going by the MAC NC35-40 spectrum, ABH Tan is in fact the closest match in terms of both color and undertone. Although the description of it appears as “neutral” on the ABH website, you’ll notice it’s still within the Warm category on the pie chart (featured in my post). It’s definitely not the pinkish type of neutral we tend to see in some foundations so you can confidently purchase ABH Tan for your skin tone and undertone :)

Hi Emily, welcome to the blog! Based on the average of the colors you mentioned, you would in fact be a close match to MAC NC20, which is ABH Warm Ivory. Oxidization usually occurs due to the formula of the foundation which is probably why you’re experiencing the UD Naked turning too warm. ABH stick foundations don’t have this problem so you should be OK. Hope that helps :)

Hi Elizabeth, you can go two ways with this: The Banana highlighter stick + Shadow contour stick OR Warm Alabaster foundation stick as highlighter + Shadow contour stick.
The different shades in the highlighter depends on your preference; Banana is quite yellow and brightening, Warm Alabaster is couple of shades lighter than your skin color (based on MAC NC25) which would give you a more subtle highlight. Hope that helps :)

Hi Elizabeth, the contour stick in the color Shadow will be suitable for your coloring and also for either of the highlighters I recommended. It has a cool undertone. You can apply a sheer layer for a natural look or build it up for a more intense sculpted look.

Elizabeth March 30, 2017 - 5:07 pm

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah March 31, 2017 - 3:36 am

Hi Elizabeth, you can go one shade darker for a natural look which would be ABH Golden; or go 2 shades darker which is ABH Warm Tan. I personally prefer contour colors to be slightly darker as I like the option of sheering them out or building up intensity. If you’re the same, ABH Warm Tan should give you plenty of contrast without turning too muddy. Hope that helps :)

Hannah March 6, 2017 - 1:35 pm

Hi! I’m shade NW13 in Mac. Do you think I should go for alabaster or porcelain? Would warm alabaster (shade in between alabaster and porcelain) be the wrong undertone? I’m lost! Thank you :)

Reply
facebook-profile-picture
Sarah March 7, 2017 - 2:55 am

Hi Hannah, you’re definitely right in between ABH Alabaster and Porcelain so you can go either way depending on how well of a match NW13 is on you. If you use contour or bronzers, then I usually recommend going the lighter shade (Alabaster) cos it’s easier to deepen the color of foundation than to lighten it – if that makes sense.
In terms of undertones, NW13 is within the neutral spectrum so the warm shades within the ABH line would be too yellow against your skin tone. Definitely stick to Alabaster or Porcelain. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Jasmine, welcome to the blog! Based on the UD All Nighter 4.0, your closest match would actually be ABH Warm Natural – (this is in fact MAC NC30/35 equivalent). Tarte Medium Tan Honey is slightly deeper so closest ABH match for this would be Golden. Both of these ABH colors have warm/olive undertones.
It’s just a matter of deciding whether UD matches you better and hence go with ABH Warm Natural or Tarte matches you better and hence go with ABH Golden. Hope that makes sense :)

Hi Mireya, based on an average of the two colors you mentioned (and their undertones), closest ABH match would be Warm Ivory. Please note, Kat Von D 45 light is slightly lighter than Too Faced Vanilla. Again, my recommendation is based on an average of the two.

Hi Kavitha, welcome to the blog! ABH Caramel is the closest shade to Tahoe. Contour depends on how intense you prefer it to be. For true cool toned contour that you can sheer down for a natural look or build up for intensity, ABH Contour Stick in Mink would complement Caramel really well. For a warmer contour, you can go with ABH Chestnut.
Here’s a video tutorial of all the highlight and contour colors ABH used with Caramel to help you decide which option you prefer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBBO6GYfloA

Hi Emma, as with any base product, prepping the skin is quite important. If you use pore minimizing or even mattifying primers first, you will definitely achieve a more flawless finish with the foundation – which will also wear longer.
Stick foundations are typically more creamy so you would definitely benefit from setting the oily areas with powder. ABH Amber is a close match to MAC NC45. Hope that helps.

Hi Ilam, there’s couple of levels of shade difference between MAC NC20-25 to NARS Stromboli.
ABH Beige is closer to MAC NC20/25, ABH Warm Natural is closer to Sromboli.

Hi Mary, there’s not an exact match for NW33; you’re almost in between ABH Natural (slighyly lighter) and ABH Honey (slightly darker). If you don’t want to buy both to custom mix your color, I would recommend you go with ABH Natural (the lighter shade) as it’s easier to deepen the color with bronzers or contour if need be. Hope that helps.

Hi Nancy, given the Too Faced Natural Beige, you’re almost an in between ABH Warm Natural and ABH Tan. That said, the lighter shade which is Warm Natural might be easier to work with as you can adjust the color with bronzers or contour.
Contour color in the shade Fawn would be perfect with Warm Natural. Because they’re the same formula, you can even mix it into the foundation to deepen the color if need be. Hope that makes sense :)

Hello there! I’m so glad I stumbled upon this article. So I wear NW15 so I’m leaning towards the Porcelain shade. I believe that will fit me best. But I’m also looking for one for contouring and have no idea which color to use. I usually contour not too dark but not to subtle either. (Hope that makes sense) Every time I’ve bought any kind of cream contour it comes out orangey.

Hi Brittany, welcome to the blog! Yes you’re right, ABH Porcelain would be the closest shade to NW15. For contour, ABH Shadow is the lightest contour color with cool undertones (which would prevent that orange-shade problem for you). Just make sure to start light, blend really well and build as needed. Hope that helps :)

Hi Sandra, welcome to the blog. Going by the colors you mentioned, you seem to be the same shade as me – ranging between a MAC NC30-35. Closest ABH match to this is Warm Natural indeed.

As a side note, you’d be a warm/olive undertone and if you ever repurchase the MUFE HD, old formula #127, new ultra HD formula #123=Y365 is a perfect match. Hope that helps :)

Hi Rosaa, there’s not a perfect ABH match for NC37 but given the Urban Decay #6 is closer to MAC NC40 and the undertones, ABH Warm Tan would probably be the closest match.

JL July 4, 2018 - 9:26 pm

Hello, I noticed you’ve given warm tan or tan for a number of NC37 persons, so I was wondering in my case where I’m NC37 MAC Pro Longwear, Fenty 290, EstΓ©e Lauder Double Wear Nude Waterfresh 4N1 Shell Beige, Dior Backstage 3N (really looking well on me now), which of the two you’d suggest?

Reply
facebook-profile-picture
Sarah July 5, 2018 - 3:57 am

Hi JL, the foundations on your list have very different undertones. Estee Lauder 4N1 and Dior 3N are neutral undertones; Fenty 290 is neutral olive undertone and MAC NC37 is warm undertone. Also, everything other than the MAC37 is also one shade lighter (than MAC37) so it’s a bit hard to pinpoint your exact color.

If you take MAC NC37 as your correct shade, then ABH Warm Tan would be the closest match.
If you take Dior 3N as your correct shade, then ABH Natural would be the closest match – which are quite different to each other both in both shade and undertone.
Hope that makes sense. Pls let me know if you have any questions :)

Reply
JL October 11, 2018 - 12:44 am

Hello and thanks! Yes, I totally understand. As you know, we have a winter color and summer color and even different colors when your sick or different years, so NC37 is ever so slightly too yellow at times and the Estee Lauder 4N1 is ever so slightly more neutral than my other colors (but looks really great on me) and my truest color at the moment is Dior 3N. So thanks a lot! You’ve helped me pinpoint an ABH Stick with either Warm Natural or Warm Tan (and I’m thinking Warm Natural is the one).

Mayra January 13, 2017 - 11:18 am

I wear warm beige from too faced born this way. I tried from the abh honey, & caramel but they were too dark caramel seems the closet but still a little dark maybe for when I have a tan. Which one would be my color?

Sarah January 13, 2017 - 1:38 pm

Hi Mayra, based on the Born This Way Warm Beige and Tarte Tan Honey, your closest ABH color would actually be Tan. However, you mentioned ABH Honey and Caramel were both too dark which are quite different in color from another. Just as a guideline ABH Honey is in the Medium category, Caramel is in the Medium Dark category with quite a few shades in between them.

Again, based on the other brand foundations you’re using, your closest ABH match would be Tan; if you prefer to go one shade lighter than ABH Caramel, then ABH Warm Tan would be the closest option.

Hi Karolina, I’m not too familiar with the EX1 range. I had a quick look into it for you and I’m assuming you’re referring to their Invisiwear Liquid foundation? Their numbers seem to go F100, F200 and so on. If 2.0 (as you mentioned) is F200 in their numbering system, then ABH Warm Natural would be a close match. I couldn’t say for sure though so if there are any other foundations that match you well, please let me know as it’ll be easier for me to get an average of the colors and undertones.

Hi Emma, welcome to the blog! Of the 3 foundations you mentioned, there’s a slight undertone difference between the Estee Lauder Ecru compared to Armani and MUFE colors. Estee Lauder is more of a neutral undertone (which you might find it turning slightly pink on you) compared to the Armani and MUFE (which are more warm undertones). Taking an average of all colors and given 2 out of 3 have warmer undertones, I think ABH Warm Porcelain will be the safest option. I hope that makes sense :)

Hi Amber, your ABH color is actually in between Alabaster (lightest shade in the range) and Porcelain (which is one shade darker). If you use bronzer/contour, then I recommend you go for Alabaster as it’s easier to deepen the color of foundation than to lighten it. If the NW13 is slightly light on you, then go for Porcelain.

I currently use the Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation in shade 113. I was also matched to the revamped Water Blend Foundation in Y305 (though it was a really close call with Y245). I’ve been matched as NC20 in the past, in both Pro Longwear concealer and Studio Sculpt concealer – the Studio Fix Fluid is too yellow on me. Other matches include:
Lancome Teint Miracle in 010
Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions in 02 Fresh Ivory
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in 100 Ivory.
Thank you!

Hi Priscilla, thank you for the details you provided.

Based on the average of all the colors you mentioned, ABH Warm Porcelain would be the closest match. This is taking into account your undertones – especially given that NC20 Studio Fix is slightly yellow on you. ABH Warm Porcelain is still warm undertones without the yellow component – if that makes sense.
As for contour, the contour stick in Shadow will give you a natural finish without turning muddy. Hope that helps :)

Hi Josephine! welcome to the blog and thank you so much for your kind words :) Based on the color you mentioned, the closest ABH equivalent would be Amber. Contour stick in Mink is a great cool toned shade which would give you a natural blend with this.

That said, due to the formula difference between powder and liquid/cream foundations, colors can vary greatly once applied to the skin. If there are any other foundations preferably in a liquid or cream formula that match you well, please let me know as it’ll help get a better average of your undertones.

Hi May, if that’s the case, it’s safer to refer back to my initial recommendation based on NARS Punjab. You can either purchase ABH Beige which will be slightly lighter than NARS Punjab or ABH Warm Natural which is slightly darker than Punjab.
ABH Beige would be easier to work with if you bronze or contour as it’s more practical to deepen the color of foundation than to lighten it.
Hope that helps :)

Going by the Maybelline 220 shade, the closest ABH color with similar undertones would be Warm Natural. If you ever consider a contour stick to go with it, ABH Fawn compliments it really well. Hope that helps :)

Hi Sarah! Was wondering if you could help me in picking an ABH foundation shade… I’m the shade NC35 in Mac studio fix and NC40 in Mac Pro longwear. I’m also the shade Honey in L’oreal true match however it comes out a bit peachy. I’m 225 in Maybelline Fit me and the shade Sand in Too Faced Born This Way matches quite well too. Which would you recommend for me? Thank you! :)

Hi Muneeba, based on majority of the foundations you mentioned, your closest ABH color would be Tan.
As a side note, the Loreal True Match in Honey is a neutral undertone which is probably why you’re finding it’s throwing off peachy/pink shades. Try the number sequence that starts with W for Warm instead of N which is neutral. Hope that helps :)

Hi Michaela, your MUFE 30 Porcelain is close to Ivory shade in the ABH foundation range. Taking the undertones into consideration, the traditional Banana highlighter might be too yellow. Instead, you can go couple of shades lighter in the foundation – in your case this would be Alabaster foundation stick as a highlighter and Fawn contour stick would give you the flexibility to achieve natural contouring or build up intensity depending on your preference. Hope this helps.

Hi Farhana, I know it’s really hard buying foundation online. Unfortunately ABH sticks are only available via the ABH website at this stage. I’m not sure when they’ll hit the stores.
Going by the colors you mentioned, you actually have a blend of neutral and warm tones in there which makes it hard to pinpoint what your true undertones are. Given an average of all 3 colors, ABH Honey is probably the closest match. How well does the MAC NW35 blend with your skin tone? Is it a perfect match or slightly pink? If you can give me some more detail, it’ll help narrow it down.
By the way, not sure if the formula is the same but Benefit is bringing back the Playticks so keep an eye on their social media for announcements ;)

Hi Ethelreda Nadia, welcome to the blog! Can you confirm if you’re referring to Makeup Forever liquid or the stick foundation? And also just to make sure is it the old formula or the new Ultra HD formula – if you can let me know the exact name on the bottle. That’ll help me narrow things down for you. Thanks!! :)

Reply
Ethelreda Nadia November 24, 2016 - 10:26 am

It’s the Ultra HD in liquid form. The shade is 123 = Y365. But like I’ve said earlier on, it’s a little light on me though it’s not that obvious because it almost matches my neck, but almost is never enough ? I’m also thinking of purchasing the contour stick, any recommendations on that as well?

PPS; I appreciate it so much how you’re so committed into reaching out with your reader. Bless your beautiful heart ❀️

Awww thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate it :) ABH Warm Natural is the closest shade to MUFE 123/Y365. Typically I’d recommend half a shade darker (given the MUFE color is a bit light on you), but sticking with the same undertones, next shade up in ABH would be way too dark. Different brands and formulas always vary in color and finish so you may not even have the same problem with the ABH one.
But in case you do, this is what I recommend:

Seeing as you’re also after a contour color, Fawn contour stick is a good mid-tone shade to compliment Warm Natural foundation. They’re both the same formula so if you find Warm Natural to be a bit light (like your MUFE one), you can mix in a little bit of Fawn, which will help deepen the color for you. This way you have a contour color and a color adjuster all in the same product. Two birds, one stone kinda deal :) Hope that helps :)

Thank you so much for the help, Sarah! I’m going to buy them during the Black Friday sale. I’ve seen some make up artists using ABH shade Amber for their contouring and they look amazing. Will my skintone suit the way they did?

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah November 25, 2016 - 2:44 am

my pleasure :) You can definitely utilize darker foundations for contouring. Personally, I’m a big advocate for using cool tones for contouring purposes which is why I usually recommend the contour sticks but if you’d like to try a darker foundation, then yes Amber would be a suitable option for Warm Natural foundation. Just make sure to start with a sheer layer and build from there as needed so it doesn’t turn too orange or muddy.
Enjoy the sales! How crazy are they :)

I use the MAC studio fix powder in NC42, their pro full coverage foundation compact in C40 (which is a little dull/muddy), and Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid in 3W2 Cashew, which seems to be a good match as of now. What about a good contour color? Should I be using a cool tone or warm tone contour? Thank you so much!

Reply

Sarah November 22, 2016 - 4:50 am

Hi Brittany, welcome to the blog! Closest ABH match would be Warm Porcelain. For contour, I always recommend cool tones, so based on your overall coloring, lightest contour stick which is Shadow should give you plenty of flexibility (to go as light or intense as you prefer without turning muddy). If need be, a touch of bronzer or blush over the contour will help add color to your complexion.

As for your concerns about foundations oxidizing on you, it’s usually a formula issue and long wearing formulas tend to oxidize more than regular formulas. MAC Prolongwear is an example of this which is probably why you might find it also oxidizes. I don’t think you’ll have this issue with the ABH sticks. Hope this helps :)

Hi Dyanna, thank you so much for your kind words. Based on the colors you mentioned, you’re almost an in-between shade in the ABH range. You can either go with Warn Tan or Caramel. Hi Ashlyn, you’re a shade in between ABH Warm Alabaster (which is now available on their site) and Warm Porcelain – Warm Porcelain is a shade darker than Warm Alabaster. Do you find MAC NW13 matches you perfectly or is it slightly lighter or darker? If you can let me know, it’ll help me narrow down which ABH color would be closest to your color spectrum :)

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah November 20, 2016 - 4:40 am

My pleasure Dyanna; that’s a good idea cos it’s always easier to alter the color of a foundation with a bronzer than to try and lighten it. Please keep me posted :)

Ashlyn Clapperton November 20, 2016 - 2:14 pm

Hi Sarah,
NW13 it’s just the tiniest bit too light for me, but if I get warm alabaster I could warm it up with some bronzer. But doesn’t warm alabaster have yellow undertones? Because the lady at MAC said I had pink?
Thanks

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah November 20, 2016 - 4:53 pm

Hi Ashlyn, my apologies, I was indeed meant to refer to ABH Alabaster or Porcelain for your neutral undertone, not the warm versions. Alabaster is the lightest shade available in the ABH range so you can definitely go for that and play up the color as you mentioned. Otherwise, just to give you a reference of color spectrum, Porcelain is close to a MAC NW15 which is literally a shade darker. Hope that helps, sorry about the confusion again :)

Dyanna November 24, 2016 - 4:55 am

Hi Sarah,

So I’ve decided to get Caramel as well since ABH is having Black Friday’s sale. I mean, a girl can never have too many foundations, right? Anyway, I’m thinking to also get their concealer. Do you have any shade recommendation? I’m thinking 3.75. I wish I can check at my local Sephora…but they don’t carry ABH.

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah November 24, 2016 - 6:34 am

Hi Dyanna, good thinking indeed! There will be plenty of savings on their site so you may as well make the most of it :)
With concealer, 3.5 will be a better match for Warm Tan and 3.75 is closer to Caramel foundation. If you get 3.5, it should cater for both foundation colors. It’ll match Warm Tan and although it’ll be slightly lighter with Caramel, it’ll have a brightening affect nevertheless. Hope that makes sense :)

Hi Donna, based on your Born This Way Warm Nude, you would indeed be Warm Natural in the ABH range. Banana highlighter stick and Fawn contour stick complement this color really well.
That said, you also mentioned you use NARS Sheer Glow in Santa Fe which is a completely different undertone. If you’re confident Born This Way is a perfect match for you, then the colors I listed above is what would suit your coloring. If however, NARS is the perfect match, please confirm it with me so I can change my recommendations accordingly :)

**I myself am Warm Nude in Born This Way, Warm Natural in ABH but my NARS Sheer Glow match is Stromboli which carries the same undertones. Hope that makes sense :)

Finding the right foundation can definitely be a challenge. MAC NW20 and Nars Santa Fe are almost identical but they’re a neutral undertone compared to Too Faced Warm Nude which is a warm undertone.
The only thing I can recommend is: apply Warm Nude to one side of your face and MAC NW20 on the other. Try to blend it into your jawline but don’t bring it down your neck. Let both foundations settle on your skin for about 15mins. Then check both sides in natural light. Whichever side seems to disappear better into your skin and matches your neck is the best option. Feel free to report back your results and I’ll try to narrow it down for you :)

Donna November 17, 2016 - 4:32 am

Hey Sarah thanks again
Ok I did what you said I feel nude by nature is better then mac nw20 but yet still feel it’s a little orange on me :/ like a tone to orange
Not sure where that leaves me
Thanks again

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah November 17, 2016 - 6:02 am

Hi Donna, I notice you mentioned “nude by nature”; you mean Too Faced Warm Nude right?
If Warm Nude looked better than NW20 but still slightly darker or orange, then I’m pretty confident that you can go half a shade lighter with ABH.

Given the info at hand, I feel ABH Cool Beige would be a better option. This is about a MAC 25 on the color spectrum. Basically we’re going for a shade in between MAC 20 and Too Faced Warm Nude (which is about a MAC 30 equivalent). I hope that’s not too confusing :)

With your highlighter and contour colors, still stick to the previous suggestions of Banana and Fawn. These are exactly the same formula as the foundation sticks so you can actually mix them into your foundation to adjust the color if need be. As an example, if you feel the foundation is looking slightly pink or orange (although I doubt it will), you can mix in some of your Banana stick in there to neutralize the color.
If it’s too light (again, shouldn’t be), you can mix in a little bit of the Fawn contour to darken it. This will also be helpful if your skin tone changes seasonally.

So it’s ABH Cool Beige Foundation, Banana highlighter and Fawn contour. I think this set of colors will give you a good starting point :) Please keep me posted!

Hi Nour! happy to have you on the blog too :) Based on your Maybelline color, the closest ABH match would be Porcelain.
Depending on the level of redness you experience, I would recommend color correcting. Correctors with a green undertone help cancel out the redness completely so when you apply the foundation on top, everything is even.
As for acne, I’m not sure if you’re referring to acne marks and scars like dark pigmentation spots? or do you mean red acne spots (which again, you can treat with green color correctors).
I’ve covered Color Correcting (and product options) in detail in my post below which you might find helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions Color Correcting: http://beautypointofview.com/product-series-color-correctors/

Hi Brandi, welcome to the blog! Your closest ABH match would be Warm Tan. Given that this color is in the Medium color category, Banana highlighter stick and Fawn contour stick would give you a good balance of shades. Hope that helps :)

Hi Sarah. Thank you for helping out. I have been wanting to order ABH foundations but didn’t know how i can match it. You have certainly made it a lot easier for me. I am currently using NC25 mineralize foundation. I also use NC30. While NC25 matches the skin tone, NC30 is a bit warmer for my skin tone but the result from Nc30 is more smooth and even out than NC25. I do get tan easily though. What do you suggest for foundation and contour/highlight as well. Thanks so much

Hi Faaria, based on what you mentioned, especially the fact that you tan easily, I’m thinking NC30 equivalent might be the better option which is ABH Warm Natural. Seeing as you’re also wanting highlight/contour colors and they’re the same formula as the foundation sticks, you can always adjust the color of your foundation by mixing in some of the highlight shade (if need be). Given that you’re a warm undertone, the Banana stick for highlight and Fawn for contour will match your overall coloring. Hope that helps :)

Hi, thank you for helping out! So happy I found this page! I was wondering what ABH foundation stick color you think would be the best match for me.. I have the color cool sand 2.25 in Bobbi brown foundation stick and in Urban Decay’s naked skin (weightless ultra definition liquid makeup) I’ve got the shade 2.5. I would like to order a foundation stick that would match my skin, also a ABH stick for contouring. What shade do you think would suite me? Thank you again! :)

Sarah November 8, 2016 - 4:38 am

Hi Sara, welcome to the blog! Given the foundations you mentioned, the closest ABH match with neutral undertones would be Ivory. Please keep in mind, both the Bobbi Brown Cool Sand and Urban Decay 2.5 are in between shades (meaning they have been added to the original range to cater for minor color differences). The ABH one may not be 100% exact match to these but close enough.
As for contour color, Ivory foundation being in the Fair category, the lightest of the contour sticks which is Shadow would give you a natural look without turning too muddy ;)

Hi Rooza, ABH Warm Tan is a close match to NC42. Contour color in Fawn is a good mid tone shade to match this foundation – which you can either sheer down or build up depending on your preferred intensity.

Hi Brittany, ABH Walnut is the closest match to NC50 as it has yellow undertones. Chestnut is lighter and has neutral undertones :)

If you want a brightening effect, you can try the Banana highlighter – however this is quite yellow so it “might” clash a bit with your neutral undertone. For a more natural highlight, lighter foundations with the same undertones would work well – Warm Porcelain (one shade lighter) or Warm Alabaster (lightest shade in the range). Really depends on how intense you prefer your highlight to be :)

Wow I’m so glad I found this page I have looking at tons videos online and pictures of swatches trying to figure out what colour to order.
My best match right now is estee lauder double wear in tawny which I see you say is warm natural. However I find tawny to be smidgen yellow / Orange when compared to the rest of my body. Would natural be better?

Here are some other foundations I have: UD Naked skin in 5.0 (a bit pink on me) and lancome teint idole ultra 230 Buff w (too light).

Thank you for all your help.

Sarah October 23, 2016 - 4:21 pm

Hi Valerie, welcome to the blog :) Out of the foundations that you listed, Estee Lauder Tawny and Lancome 230 Buff have warm/yellow undertones. The UD Naked #5 is a beige with rose undertones which would explain why it’s turning slightly pink on you. So the average of all these foundations indicate to me that you’re warm undertone.

Taking all 3 foundations into consideration, I still think ABH Natural would be a good choice. I know you mentioned Estee Lauder Tawny is slightly orange on you but it’s also a completely different formula and being a long wearing foundation, it could also be oxidizing on your skin. I’m sure ABH Warm Natural won’t turn orange cos it’s got warm olive undertones (no reds or pinks). If you still want to try a neutral undertone however, ABH Natural would be the next option. Hope that helps :)

Hi Bez, the Bobbi Brown Beige is somewhere between ABH Ivory (fair category) and Beige (light category). It’s a very minor difference in shade but it’s hard to pin point which you should go for. The only thing I can suggest is: If your BB foundation is lighter on your skin, go for ABH Beige, if it’s slightly darker, go for ABH Ivory. If there are any other brand foundations that match you well, let me know and that would also help me narrow it down for you.

ABH stick foundations are only available on the ABH website at the moment. As far as I know they offer international shipping :)

Sarah October 19, 2016 - 8:23 am

Thanks Ebony :) In that case ABH Warm Porcelain would be the closest match.

As for highlight, usually I would recommend the Banana highlighter but that would look too yellow for your undertones which is why it’s better to utilise a lighter foundation color instead. Anastasia just launched 2 new foundation colors Alabaster and Warm Alabaster which are the lightest in the range. Sticking to your undertones, Warm Alabaster would provide you with a natural highlight without turning too yellow or white on you. In terms of contour, the color Shadow is the lightest contour stick with cool undertones so it will give you the shading you need. Hope that helps :)

Thanks Valerie, in that case ABH Warm Ivory will be the closest match given the undertones.

You also asked about highlight and contour. For contour, you can go with the color Shadow. It’s a cool tone color and it’s buildable without looking too muddy. For highlight, you can try Banana which will have a brightening effect; or go for a lighter foundation stick such as Warm Alabaster (now available on the ABH site) which is couple of shades lighter than ABH Warm Ivory foundation with similar undertones. This will provide a more natural highlight. Really depends on your preference.

Hi Aaron, based on your foundation list, you’re almost an in between ABH Warm Natural and Tan. As a reference point, Warm Tan is closer to Kat Von D Medium 53 and Tan is closer to Too Faced Sand so it really depends on which of the two foundations you use match your overall coloring better.

If you’ve ever used a MAC foundation or you’re able to get color matched at a MAC counter and let me know your shade, I’ll be able to narrow it down more for you.

I was thinking of ordering these foundation sticks myself but I am confused between Caramel and Amber. I currently use the Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Tahoe, which matches me perfectly during the summer but it is currently slightly dark for me now that we’re heading into winter. I believe that is NC44/45 in Mac? I have medium to tan skin with a warm undertone.
Which shade do you think would suit me the best from ABH?

Sarah October 12, 2016 - 12:03 pm

Hi Nuri, thank you so much for your kind words :) Based on NARS Sheer Glow in Tahoe, ABH Caramel would be the closest match especially in terms of undertones. As for winter months, Warm Tan would give you a slightly lighter finish but still keep within similar undertones to Caramel.
*Based on the ABH color categories you would be in MEDIUM category with Warm Tan during winter months and MEDIUM TAN category with Caramel during summer.
I hope that makes sense :)

Hi Jessica! I’m glad you mentioned your MAC match. I’m a MAC NC30-35 myself so I know ABH Warm Natural is the closest match. This color will run slightly darker than your Estee Lauder Desert Beige but given that you’ve already been matched at the MAC counter, I’m confident it will be fine.

As for when you’re tanned, it’s hard to recommend a darker color foundation as tanning can affect undertones and of course it depends on just how dark you get etc. Instead, I would highly recommend you invest in a good matte bronzer and bronze around the perimeter of your face, across the bridge of your nose and forehead (where you would naturally tan).

The ABH Warm Natural foundation will keep the center of your face slightly brighter and the bronzer give you plenty of dimension and color everywhere else to match your body. Seeing as we’re the same shade, I highly recommend NARS Laguna or Too Faced Chocolate Soleil (Dark Chocolate) bronzers. They’re both matte and apply beautifully. I hope this helps. Enjoy your time in Australia!! :)

Hi Marwa, the MUFE HD Y455 is a bit of an in-between shade. Typically it would be a blend of ABH Amber and Walnut. However, given the yellow undertone of MUFE foundations, the safer option would be Amber for you. It “might” be slightly lighter in color but the undertone will match you better. You can always bronze it up if need be. I hope that makes sense, let me know if you have any questions :)

I normally use EsteΓ© Lauder double wear 3W2-Cashew or 3W1-Tawny (can be muddy sometimes).
I’ve been told I’m medium with yellow undertones, also maybe a but olive.
I tan quiet easily in summer and lighter in winter maybe you could suggest a different shade for the seasons and all rounder tha would suit my colouring.
:)
Thanks

Hi Sam, because you mentioned 3W1 Tawny can turn muddy at times, I’m going to play it safe and use 3W2 Cashew as a guide. Closest ABH match to this color is Tan – which is within the medium range with warm/yellow undertones.

It’s hard to recommend colors for different seasons as tanning can bring about different undertones and also depends on how dark you get etc.
That said, if we use ABH Tan as your regular color, ABH Golden would be lighter with similar undertones and ABH Caramel would be on the darker spectrum with similar undertones. Hope that helps :)

Reply
facebook-profile-picture
Sarah October 5, 2016 - 2:08 am

Hi Maria, given the average of the two colors you mentioned, closest ABH match is Warm Natural. Your Loreal True Match in W5 is probably a little neutral/pink compared to your Maybelline 220. So keep in mind the ABH Warm Natural will have a similar undertone to the Maybelline – slightly more warm and golden. Hope that helps; let me know if you have any other questions :)

Reply
Maria October 6, 2016 - 9:31 pm

I actually meant to write N5 for loreal true match!! Sorry! Does that change anything??

Reply
facebook-profile-picture
Sarah October 7, 2016 - 4:52 am

Hi Maria, OK, I hope this explanation will make sense: The W series in Loreal stands for Warm undertone; the N series is for Neutral undertone. Your Maybelline 220 is Warm undertone. Loreal True Match W5 – as previously mentioned is also within the Warm category but not as yellow as the Maybelline 220 – which is why I recommended ABH Warm Natural cos it would still be similar undertones to both foundations.

But now that I know your Loreal color is N5, it’s a totally different undertone to your Maybelline 220 which is where it gets a bit confusing. If you can let me know which of the two foundations match you exactly, or if you have any other brands that are a good match, maybe if you know what your MAC color is etc, let me know. That will help me determine your undertone.

Reply
Maria October 7, 2016 - 6:58 pm

I figured that out but for some reason the undertones for them don’t seem so different. :/ But if i had to say it the N5 matches best.

facebook-profile-picture
Sarah October 8, 2016 - 2:02 am

In that case, based on the N5 being a neutral undertone, ABH Natural is the closest match to it. It’s a neutral equivalent of Warm Natural so there won’t be a huge color difference, just a an undertone tweak :) Please let me know if you have any other questions :)

Please keep in mind there will always be differences between brands but given MUFE’s undertones, Warm Natural is a better match than the lighter shades in the range. As for contour, Fawn is a good mid-tone cool shade which you can sheer down or build up as much as you need. Hope this helps :)

Hi can you help me match my shade, I wear mac face & body C4. I naturally have quite sallow/olive skin that can be really pale in winter but I tan easily & tend to hold that tan quite well through winter. So I buy foundation in my tan range. Hoping this makes sense.

So mac f&b in C4 – trying to match that

Appreciate any help, thanks

I also purchased the MUFE foundation ultra hd stick in Y335 but this is too light… I wondered if you have tried this & which shade you found worked ?

Thanks again

Hi Tara! Thank you so much for the update. Glad to hear it all worked out for you :)

I have the MUFE HD liquid foundation and that’s #127 which is indeed Y335 in the new numbering system. So, based on the liquid version you actually have the correct shade for your skin tone. However, due to formula difference, some of the shades in the stick foundations are different which is probably why it was slightly lighter on you.

I don’t personally use the MUFE stick foundation myself but I’m forever in the loop with products so I’m familiar with the range. #123/Y365 Desert should be a better match for you. It’s still yellow undertone but slightly deeper in shade. Hope that helps :)

Brilliant thank you, I’ll let you know :)

Nadya October 2, 2016 - 12:22 am

Hi Sarah. Thanks for the article and the color wheel of the foundation. I’ve been looking to add this ABH foundation to my collection but there is no Sephora nearby that stocks up ABH. I use Bobbi Brown liquid foundation in Honey (5) and Bobbi Brown stick foundation in Golden (6) interchangeably. I’m thinking I might be Warm Tan for this range? But the color just looks so light in the photo and also the video. Or is it just the lighting? I think I have medium to dark skin as I tan easily. Thank you.

Hi Nadya, ABH stick foundations are only available on the ABH website at this stage. I know it can be hard trying to determine a match through the pictures but in any case Warm Tan would definitely be too light for you.

Going by the colors you’re currently using, you would be between ABH Caramel or Amber. You mentioned you tan easily so it depends if you’d rather go for Caramel and have the ability to bronze it up if need be, or Amber which will cater for you when you’re tanned.

There’s no video for Amber yet but below is a tutorial for Caramel. They use highlight and contour which could get confusing so concentrate on how her neck color blends in with her face at the end. That will give you a better idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBBO6GYfloA

My pleasure Nadya. I think given the fact that you tan easily, it might be best to get both colors. You can always use them for highlight or contour purposes if one is too light/dark than what you need. Keep me posted :)

Hi Sarah,

Just to report back. My order arrived and Caramel is the perfect match for my current skin tone. Amber is a bit darker but I think it will match my skin colour once I tan again. Thank you so much for the perfect shade advice.

Hi Nadya! thank you so much for the update. Yeah I thought Caramel would be a good match but given the tanning factor, I think you made the right decision purchasing both. So happy to hear it all worked out for you; enjoy your new foundations! :)

Hey sarah hope you are well. I wanted to know what shade would i need to go for. Im NC35-NC40 in mac and nars i wear stromboli and i also use giorgi armani in 6.0 which can be abit tan for me at times. Also i wanted to know i got dry skin and would it ve worth me buying this if its aimed for people with oily to combination skin?

Sarah October 1, 2016 - 1:15 am

Hi Rayhana, you seem to have the same coloring as me. I also use NARS Stromboli so if that matches you perfectly, you would be Warm Natural in the ABH range. This color is closer to MAC NC30-35 spectrum. If you feel that’s too light, ABH Tan is closer to a MAC40 which is slightly darker.

As for skin type; yes the ABH stick foundations are better for combination/oily skin tones, however you can still use them if you have dry skin. You just need to make sure to moisturize well or use a moisturizing primer underneath. There’s a nourishing oil on the ABH website which is being recommended to use with these sticks if you have dry skin so you can also consider that :)

Hi Mel, ABH just released 2 new colors which are the lightest in the range. Given your neutral undertone, your color in ABH would be Alabaster. It’s available on the ABH site now.

With contour, you have two choices: You can either go couple of shades darker in the foundation range – something like Ivory would give you a fairly natural look. OR you can get the lightest color contour stick which is Shadow. This might be a bit dark but it is a cool undertone and you can always dilute it with your foundation color to adjust the shade. Contour sticks are the same formula as the foundation sticks so mixing them wouldn’t be a problem at all.

Hi Sarah!! Thank you for your dedicated post and research it’s really enlightening to see your replies for everyone! I too, have a question. My shade in mac pro longwear would be nc30, GA luminous silk in 4.5 and 840 in covergirl 3 in 1. I think I lean more on a pink undertone. Wht color would you suggest? Thank you in advance!! Loves xx

Sarah September 29, 2016 - 6:01 pm

Hi Aida! Thank you for your kind words :)

The NC range of foundations in MAC typically carry a yellow undertone; however, the Prolongwear foundation tends to oxidize to a more neutral undertone. Your Covergirl foundation is also similar to this which is why you’re probably noticing a pinkish undertone. The Giorgio Armani is the only one which is slightly more yellow; so based on an average of all 3 and taking into account both the color and undertone, I would say ABH Natural would be the closest option. It’s a neutral undertone but carries a slight bit of warmth through it so it’ll provide a good color balance.

I hope that all made sense. Please let me know if you have any questions :)

Hi Samii, I wear NARS Stromboli myself so the exact match in ABH is actually Warm Natural. It’s a yellow undertone so if you go up couple shades for when you have a tan, ABH Warm Tan would definitely give you a better match. Golden is another option, however it really depends on how dark you get. Let me know if there are any other brands that match you well when you have a tan so I can get a better understanding.

Til then, here are video tutorials for both Warm Tan and Golden which might help you decide:

Hi Malvika, MAC NC44 is close to ABH Caramel; MAC NC45 is close to Amber. NARS Cadiz is definitely more along the lines of NC45 so taking the average of the colors, I would say Amber would be the best option. Hope that helps :)

Hi Sarah!

If you don’t mind me asking, could you tell me which shade is the closest match to me? I am thinking Warm Ivory. I have tried Bourjois Healthy Mix 51 and it is a perfect match to my arm and periphery of my face. I have also tried L’oreal R2/C2 (Rose Vanilla), it’s pink but because of the redness on my cheeks, it almost matches; on other places however, it’s quite visible.

Thank you. ?

Sarah September 26, 2016 - 6:33 am

Hi Sabrina! Going by what you mentioned, I’m going to take the Bourjois Healthy Mix 51 as a guide for you. The fact that it’s a perfect match around the perimeter of your face means it blends well with your neck and doesn’t look like a mask. That color is yellow undertone and its closest match is ABH Porcelain which carries similar undertones.

I wouldn’t recommend matching a foundation to the redness of your cheeks. When we add a pink undertone foundation to skin that already has redness, it makes the redness stand out more. That’s the reason why the Loreal Rose Vanilla would look more obvious on other parts of your face.

Instead, a foundation with warm/yellow undertone (such as your Bourjois #51 and its equivalent ABH Porcelain) is better to counteract that redness so you get even skin tone all round. I hope this all makes sense, please let me know if you have any questions :)

Thank you for the prompt reply and explanations! Yes, L’oreal was my first foundation and being a noob I was (and still am ?), I matched it to my cheeks. I accidentally found your website and since then I have been reading your blog. It’s very helpful. Thank you for all your efforts. ?

Glad to be of help Sabrina :) Foundations are tricky to get right so it’s perfectly normal to have hits and misses.

*Just as a fyi, your color is NC15 in MAC foundations (which are somewhat used as color guidelines when comparing with other brands). If at any stage you want to purchase other brand foundations online, just google what the MAC NC15 equivalent would be and that will give you a pretty good estimate of what color you should get.
Welcome to the blog and thank you so much for your kind words!! :)

Reply
facebook-profile-picture
Sarah September 25, 2016 - 9:34 am

Hi Olivia, yes NARS Mont Blanc has a neutral undertone so in the ABH range you would actually be Warm Porcelain which carries neutral undertones (compared to the Porcelain which is more yellow/olive).

As for highlight, usually I would recommend the Banana highlighter but that would look too yellow for your undertones which is why it’s better to utilise a lighter foundation color instead. Anastasia just launched 2 new foundation colors Alabaster and Warm Alabaster which are lighter than the Porcelain shades. Sticking to your undertones, Warm Alabaster would provide you with a good highlight without turning too yellow or white on you. In terms of contour, the color Cafe Latte is the lightest contour stick with cool undertones so it will give you the shading you need.

Hope this helps you; please let me know if you have any other questions :)

Hi Tiara, the stores are slowly starting to get the displays in but there’s not a definite date on when the stock will be available. I’ll continue to update as I get more information.
Going by the colors you’ve given me, your undertone is similar to a MAC NC44 which is closest to Caramel in the ABH range. As for highlight, I’m including the video tutorial below for Caramel color where they used both the Banana highlighter (now available in the stick form) as well as Cool Beige. Either would be complimentary with the Caramel foundation. Banana highlight is more yellow meaning it would look slightly brighter so it depends how light you want your highlighter to be. There’s also a contour color in there so I hope all this information helps you decide.
Please let me know how it turns out :)

It’s an undertone difference between the two. Beige is within a warm/neutral category meaning if you’re closer to the true warm/yellow spectrum as NC20 usually is, Beige might be a little on the pink side against your coloring. If you’re not able to change your order, I think you can make the Beige work – might need to add some bronzer or mix with a deeper yellow foundation to adjust the undertone. Please let me know how it turns out ;)

Hi Sam, I’m definitely a Warm Natural so if you have yellow/olive undertones too, that would also be your shade :)

Oh wow the models look gorgeous! I have no idea what color I would be. I think I’ll wait and get it at Sephora so they can color match me. I don’t even know my tone or anything. How bad is that!? lol

Hi Kate, it’s perfectly normal to not know such details. Choosing foundation colors is a complex process, especially that some formulas can oxidize (change color when they blend with the oils on the skin). These foundations will hit the stores very soon and they’re permanent so I’m sure you’ll find your perfect match :)

I literally read this in a heartbeat and can’t thank you enough for the details. You always go that extra mile with your posts. I think I’d be Beige. I’m definitely neutral but warm colors look better on me. Excited to try these! Thanks Sarah.
