Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators

Peach Nectar & Glow Kits

Happy new year beauties! I hope you all had a good start to 2016!

Seeing as this is our first post of the year, what better way to begin than talk about glowing, shimmering and sparkling products! I’m referring to Anastasia Beverly Hills iIlluminators and the newly released Glow Kits!

The ABH single compact illuminators are not new; in fact the shade So Hollywood which is a shimmering champagne is a cult favorite and still sells out as soon as it restocks. Though I was intrigued when they were first released, my overload of already existingΒ highlighter collection stopped me from getting any of them.

Fast forward to a few weeks back –Β I was casually strolling through Macy’s and saw the ABH stand with the illuminators. Of course refrain flies out the window and I go home as the proud owner of Peach Nectar – which stood out to me the most of the 4 shades available.

The first thing that catches the attention with the ABH Illuminators is theΒ stunning embossed/pleated design as you open the compact. I almost didn’t want to use it so I wouldn’t lose the pattern – got over it pretty quick thoughΒ :)

The formula itself is a finely milled powder which applies and blends smoothly and it’s pigmented enough that a little goes a long way. What I did notice however, is that the texture (or the shimmer factor) varied between colors. The popularΒ color So Hollywood (and the more frosty Starlight) definitely have more noticeable sparkles throughout whereas Peach Nectar and Riviera have more of a subtle shimmer finish.

If you prefer a more “popping” highlight, then depending on your skin tone, you might enjoy the So Hollywood and Starlight shades more. If like me, you’d rather have more control over the shimmer factor, then Peach Nectar or Riviera might be a better option.

With its warm undertone, Peach Nectar at first glance looks like it could be used as a blush/highlighter, however the warm tones blend in nicely with my NC30/35 skin tone so I get more of the glow factor than the color component if that makes sense. I have been using it over bronzers and other blush and it blends seamlessly without depositing too much color yet still throws off that warm hue which is what I personally love.

There are 4 shades within the ABH Illuminator range; they’reΒ $28 each for 9g/0.32oz compact.

Talk about ABH and illuminators, hot off the press is the launch of their two new Glow Kits. Featuring 4 highlightersΒ in each compact, the Gleam palette has cooler undertones, whereas That Glow palette has warmer shades.

The Glow Kits are definitely more subtle and finer in texture than the Illuminators and retail at $40 each.

hey, could you tell me the difference between the glow kit and the illuminators? Are they used for the same thing?

Hi Tya, yes they’re all highlighters. I find the Illuminators have a bit more shine but the Glow Kits are a great value seeing as you get 4 different shades.

Hi, you can check the links I included in this post which is Macys. They offer international shipping on some items. If you change your country setting on their page to Netherlands and search for the product, you’ll see if they ship to your location or not.
Otherwise you can try beautybay.com which stocks Anastasia highlighters and they offer worldwide shipping. Sometimes they sell out of popular products but keep checking back the site as they re-stock often :)
